Pros

Good Fuel Economy (37-39 for me), plastic so no rust or dents, parts are cheap

Cons

Chincy interior, flimsy MT, not very fast, eats oil, possible electrical issues

I think from a transportation stand point it is pretty good for the Spartan out there. Great mileage, decent interior in terms of usability The MT ratios are sporty, but the trans. is weak. I busted a linkage pin shifting once under normal driving. I estimate my 0-60 to be about 9.5 sec.

I think that Saturns are known oil hogs. I know my sister has a 1999 and that thing eats a lot of oil, mine eats about a quart every 3000 miles, and I use an oil additive (restore).

I have problems in my car with electrical systems. The light for the clock doesn't work, the cup holder bulb burnt out, the rear lights don't work, and the rear hatch light doesn't work either. (I checked these with a volt-meter and there is power to the rear bulbs but it burns out almost immediately. No ground to the rear hatch I think, not sure on the clock)...read morehide
