This 2000 Toyota Tacoma Prerunner has 100,000 miles on it (just broken in). Only prob being the check engine light which ended being the EGR valve (for emissions reduction) to pass DEQ Cost- 80 bucks to fix.
Prerunner is great for city living/mountain visiting and I don't find the 2.7L boring or gutless at all compared to the fuel savings. I love the lifted feel like 4x4 models and I bought it with matching canopy and rack system for bikes or boards. The Xtracab is a must however, esp for musicians, not so much for passengers (just extra room for gear/storage)...read morehide

I bought my Prerunner used with only 20K miles on it. I have owned it for 8 years and I have 75000 miles on it now. I have only changed the oil and the battery and tires. I have have had no mechanical problems. I have a dent in the door but when I price new trucks it does not look so bad. I will keep this truck for 10 more years. It has an automatic transmission 4cyl and it sits up high like a 4X4 but is a 4X2. I put a camper shell on the back for covered cargo. This is a great truck.
