OK! Now, kwengca... Porsches are cool, yes. But this is much cooler. Doesnt matter if it isnt as fast as these twin-turbo, $300,000 euro cars. imnonni, shut up. Lingenfelters arent that fast. They may be decent cars, but no. Dont get me wrong, Zo6 corvettes are cool. But they arent the fastest, coolest car on the planet....read morehide

Nothing can beat a Corvette for $50,000.
- The Ford GT MSRP:$139,995 - $139,995.
- Ferrari Entry Level - 04 Modena MSRP $151,245 - $186,950 (Usually Pay $20K or more in addition to the dealer)
- 04 Porche 911 turbo $118,400 - $128,200.
Ok, If I win the loto I may get a Ferrari but for now if I put $30K in upgrates to my corvette I can get the same performance level of this 3 cars.
But gess what, I am more than happy with the current corvette performance so the $30K are for my next toy......read morehide

Got my first Vette on July 1, and it has been totally awesome. Performance and handling are simply stunning. The Medium Spiral Gray color is the best. So far I have 3K miles on it and zero problems. I did a 950 mile round trip to the Woodward Dream Cruise in Detroit and averaged 30.4 mpg mostly at 70 mph and even with some local miles and cruising. What a car....read morehide

Just bought mine a few weeks ago, and the grin-o-meter is still pegged! This car is about performance and performance. It has an exhaust sound you definitely don't get from the coupes and the interior is MORE than livable.
I've already taken it on 2 hour drives and it's amazingly comfortable. It's an extremely easy car to drive (light clutch), but step on the gas and above 3500rpm you'd think it launched from a rocket pad.
I was also able to average 21mpg in two weeks of driving (including the long trip) and I definitely DON'T take it easy on the car. This is the closet thing to a street legal race car you can get. My friend owns a Ferrari 355, and the Z06 blows it away. Plus, I have a warranty.
This car is amazing. Period....read morehide

Go buy the Mustang Cobra Instead. It can seat 4 people. And it cost way less then a base corvette and it has 30 more horeses to play around with To beat the Z06 Just remove the speed limiter and change the muffuler and you have a fast car.

For Corvette owners, I want to know about reliabilities in terms of oil leeks and any transmission problems for yr "99 and up. Thanks.

I finally did it......I bought the car of my dreams. I had been dreaming about the day that I would watch as a brand new yellow corvette convertible was delivered to my driveway!
I can not say enough good about the true American sports car. I traded in a 2002 BMW 325i and I am happy twice......happy to see the Bimmer go and happy to have a real car in the garage!
I previously owned a used C4 Corvette and Chevrolet has refined the 2004 to be World Class. Handling and comfort are awesome, and ride is smooth, even on less than desirable roads. Cockpit / radio controls are easily accessible, and the truck lid give me an excuse to take the vette to go get that gallon of milk at the store!
BMW calls itself the Ultimate Drving Machine, but I have to disagree.....I'll take the vette anyday!...read morehide

I must say I've owned modified twin turbo cars (94 rx-7 tt, 97 supra tt) in the past. I had lots of fun with these imports. I never used to think much about domestic cars such as the corvette because I never were into them. Before purchasing my zo6, I had driven the coupe and convertible models and I must say I was not impressed by its performance (v8 w/ 350hp). Once I had the chance of test driving the zo6 (405hp), it totally changed my feelings about the car forever. I was impressed by its furious acceleration, handling, and braking. The salesman allowed me on the test drive "to drive it, like I stole it". In an instant, I was completely shocked by its performance, night and day form the regular models. Right then, this was the car I must have and add to my collection. I did alot of research on this vehicle before deciding on the purchase of one. I had found out that GM dedicated themselves into making one of the best (if not the best sports cars in the world). GM extracted every ounce of power from this short block v8 without the use of turbos or supercharger. Quite impressive. For the price, performance, options, and ergonomics, you cannot go wrong. If you look at other sports cars in this class, you will find that you will have to pay twice the amount of money to get you into this arena. What I love about the car is that it has so much torque and horsepower, you could never be in the wrong gear. I could be cruisin doing 80mph on sixth gear and the car is barely idling at about 2000 rpm. If you need to speed up, no problem, no need to down shift. It effortlessly moves you, like a sling shot forward and still gets you about 25-30mpg on the highway. It makes my 60 mile one way commute very fun and interesting....read morehide

I am in the military and getting ready to retire (at 43:-) and today my wife bought me an new 2004 Coupe.
Horsepower, shifters and stares Oh MY!!! Horsepower, shifters and stares Oh MY!!!
I test drove the ZO6 Commemorative and was absolutely stunned at the power and smooth handling. It could put me in the trunk in gears 1-4 when ever I punched it. (5th and 6th gear were out of the question because of traffic) I love terrorizing salsemen:-)
Anyway I couldnt justify the price of the ZO6 and went w/ a Coupe for a skoshe over $40,000. I could tell the difference in power but 350 horses will get me where Im goin and the insurence savings was worth the Coupe.
Just as smooth handling as the Z06, just as comfortable, just as exciting to drive. Bottom line the C6's are coming out and there are some really great deals to be had on C5's right now so if you want to get in a world class sports car, now is one of the best times ever.
When I was 25 my kids took up my vette money and when I was 35 my new house took up my vette money.
I love being in my fourties, Im not havin a midlife crisis, it took me this long to be able to afford it and......................
It was WELL worth the wait:-)
