Write a ReviewPros: The stearing is tight and it runs great if you push the engine a little.
Cons: The seats are hard and uncomfortable on trips longer than 15, or so, minutes.
I bought the car expecting a better performance with respect to fuel economy. It is rated at 26 mpg on the highway. I hope the milage will increase as the car is broken in more, but to date, I have yet to break 22 mpg. I am even driving it in a reserved manner so that I do not race the engine to conserve gas. It is not helping....read morehide

I'm not going to get technical with you so let me just say what the average (Steve) might appreciate from this vehicle. First of all, eventhough the look is old and played out, I still am and always was impressed with it's lines. Has a great vintage look to it. I get alot more stares from the ladies then from my Altima. The seats front and back are very comfortable with plenty of leg room. I didn't get all the bells and whistles but it did come with a standard cd player with storage for cd's under the passenger seat. (Don't try retrieving a cd while your driving). The car has decent pick-up from a dead stop though on the highway, give yourself a few extra seconds to pass another car. The car handles well and for it's size has a pretty decent turning radius. The basic 6 speaker system is more than enough for any normal human being. If you want to look like one of those idiots with their windows down and music blasting loud enough to vibrate a sidewalk, you might want to upgrade to a better system. It takes a while to get accustomed to where the power window switches are but after 2 months, I don't reach to my left anymore. I do wish the radio had a auto scan instead of just a seek button. Oh I forgot, the armrests for the driver and passenger seats move up and down like captains chairs...pretty cool. I do admit the engine could be quieter but I can't expect everything considering the car had a $5000 cash back rebate. The car heats up very fast in the winter so you don't have to freeze for 20 minutes. The airconditoning seems great with a very strong fan. The engine has a little whine in it when accelerating which reminds me of an airplane engine. I'm driving a hotrod baby!! Overall, you will be very happy with your purchase. I've had the car a short while so I'll update you in the near future. Hope this review helped a little. I really don't feel like rereading this so I apologize for any typos....read morehide

Love it!! Comfortable, power, economy. If it holds up like our saturn did, I will be thrilled.

I recently rented the 2004 PT Cruiser for a long weekend. I was impressed with the comfort and handling. The power was adequate for the type of driving that I normally do. I was also very pleased with the gas mileage and the amount of distance that can be covered with one tank of gas. The only downfall that keeps me from purchasing this vehicle is that it is still a Chrysler....read morehide

I've been driving 03 PT Cruiser GT Highout turbo with 5speed Getrag heavy duty manual transmission with 17" rubbers since late 2003. Never failed to satisfy me either when I step on gas pedal or even when I carry large stuffs from place to place.
This is a very special-tasted vehicle.
So far, I didn't have any trouble with 29k miles on it. You can't identify that taste until you keep it. It definately has multi-faced creature. but, lovely......read morehide
