Impressive design with real zip, especially on highway

Little small for tall drivers

Have put almost 15,000 miles on our X-type and have loved it. We have had no problems, just fun. The car is particularly impressive in its power range. The engine performs amazingly at the high-end revs. When you have to pass a car on a two-lane highway and you're already doing 75-80, the car has amazing power. It will move. We have also been very pleased with the comfort and features of the car and have virtually no criticism or even suggestions. Our model did not come with memory seats, but that is the extent of our regrets. The seating is great for most sized drivers and front passengers. Lumbar support is the best I have ever felt on a car. As a 6'4" driver, I would like a little more head room. The car is a great road car that we look forward to long trips....read morehide

Good milage for size and outstanding looks and confort.

Cons

Initial work needed and too few cup holders and no automatic lights.

This is an outstanding value and cannot be equaled by any other all wheel drive vehicle.

X IN MATHAMETICS & JAGUAR LINGO STANDS FOR "UNKNOWN".ALSO IN JAGUAR LANGUAGE. YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT IS GOING TO GO WRONG NEXT. MY CAR HAS NOT STARTED 9 TIMES. 4 TIMES THE AIR BAG WENT ON AND STAYED ON. 3 TIMES THE DOORS WOULD NOT OPEN WITH THE REMOTE CONTROL. JAGS HAVEN'T CHANGED. THEY ARE VERY INFERIOR IN RELIABILITY TO BMW, ACURA, NISSAN , AND INFINITY. AND JAGUAR COMPANY WON'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT. THEY KEEP SAYING "THE DEALER REASSURRED US THAT THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN REPAIRED" & THE SAME PROBLEM OCCURS AGAIN. CAN'T TAKE THE CAR OUT OF TOWN. The car has been very good for my use, the styling is great(I feel best in class) I get comments on its looks all the time.My wife who has a 2003 5 series BMW is always asking to drive the JAG.

I love driving a luxury and nice car. I keep changing cars every 2 years but I never have jag. Jag came very new in Indonesia only the past 4 years compare with other luxury cars. I bought a new x-type jag 2.5 l, in March 2003, at the begining I was worried because in my country (Indonesia) jag not as popular as other luxury cars like BMW, Mercedes Benz etc, but I really want to have it. Now, I feel satisfied with my x-type jag 2.5, its comfortable for ladies, classy, excellent performance, sunroof make the car looks sporty. I often drive very fast in the highway, very easy to handle, responsive and excellent manouver. I definitely recommend this car. The car has characters and very sophisticated.

We just purchassed a new X-type (2004) this car is incredible. It offers so much more than your standard automobile. The handling and responsiveness of this car makes it a pleasure to drive. The all wheel drive is a standard feature. You can tell a difference in handling on wet surfaces, this is a sure footed cat. On long trips this car just glides on the highway. They call this car a near luxury car but it close enough to luxury for us. We have had no problems since our purchase but we have had a lot of fun. It's still a JAG and we think we purchased a quality automobile. Go Jaguar its a great car....read morehide

Talk about a head turner. I actually had someone walk out of a restaurant to look at my car. Drives awesome, great acceleration. Wouldn't trade it for anything.

I bought mine brand new in 2002 and it still drives like a dream! Very smooth acceleration, fantastic interior. EVERYONE compliments me on this car. There is a huge difference between the 2.5 and the 3.0. Definitely get the 3.0 - it holds its own.
I got mine fully loaded, however the only thing that dissapoints me is the Alpine surround sound stereo. The system is very clear sounding, but the bass and subwoofer is very distorted and doesnt have the great sound like the Bose does. But all in all I cant complain. I will only drive Jaguars from now on....read morehide
