I loved this SUV. I have owned it for 5 1/2 years and have never had any problems with it. The 4WD was awsome and got me where ever I needed to go and was great on icy roads. The mpg was just average, but not awful. It is very comfortable and has plent of room for a 5 seater.

I own a 2004 Jeep Liberty Limited Edition. This is my first time buying a Jeep and I can honestly say I would never go with another SUV in this particular class and size. I am extremely happy with my Jeep for both city and long haul driving. I test drove several other models (including the Toyota RAV4 and Honda CRV)before purchasing my Liberty and have no doubt in my mind that I bought the right car.
The Liberty handles well in all weather conditions and the standard tires from Good Year (these come with the 17" Alloy Wheels) are excellent. The Jeep comes with a full size spare, which is wonderful since I could not imagine driving on a half size spare donut. I use my Jeep for hauling and cannot tell you how wonderful it is to have when you need to move. The rear seats fold down to create plenty of room for boxes, groceries, etc.
Overall the gas mileage is what would be expected, not astounding but considering all the other creature comforts the car offers, I'd say it's worth it....read morehide

A dream come true. Great for commuting in all weather and bad roads on Long Island, NY. Also, a fantastic toy for driving offroad, on the beach etc. What more can one ask?

I purchased my 2003 Jeep Liberty in January of this year. I have enjoyed it since. The jeep has a nice ride, very quite and firm solid feel. Compared to the many i test driven during the many months of shopping. The gas mileage was the same as my previous vehichle a Chevy S-10. I have no complaints on gas,I have been getting 19mpg city and 22mpg hwy. The only complaint I have is that i noticed the pitch of the windshield makes it a easy target for road debrie. i had to have my windshield repaired 3 times from rocks. I am going to purchase a jeep bug shield and hope that will remedy this problem. I am now a fan of "Jeep"....read morehide

BUYER BEWARE!!! I own a 2004 Jeep Liberty that sees an average of 13.5 MPG anywhere that i drive, even HWY miles. They tell me that this is average (17 city,22HWY) and that there is nothing i can do about it. The engine knocks, but no check engine light comes on, so they cannot repair it. Since the vehicle still runs, i cannot get a new one through Lemon Laws. My leather is cracking, and the transmission shifts extremely hard. I purchased it in Feb. 2004 BRAND NEW, but it had been demo'd a couple of times, the dealer said that it was under full warranty. This is how you will be treated when you have a major problem with your Liberty. I paid 27,000.00 for it and can't understand why i cannot get any customer satisfaction. BUYER BEWARE!!! its like roulette with this product- you won't know until it is too late...read morehide

My wife and I just bought 2 Jeep 2004 Liberty's. One is a Sport and the other is a Limited Edition. So far the ride is great, there is no noise problem and it handles very well. I drove the highway on cruise at about 65 mph and after 1/2 tank of gas the MPG came up at 19.8 mpg. Just about what was advertised. I thought the acceleration was ok and smooth. I don't plan to do any 4x4 stuff, so I'm very satisfied with its performance to this point. I've read all of the worst reviews and I can say that none of that has happened to us as of yet. But then again, its been less than one week....read morehide

My mom recently got a 2004 Jeep Liberty. It is plain and standard, and it is STILL sexy. She has had SO many cars in the past that have given her trouble, and this one is doing great.
I will be honesty, the ride seems to be a little rougher that other SUV's and at times it gets a bit noisy during accelaration, but it does not bother me. To some people that is the big key. But if you are unsure about it, definatly test drive it a good ways. Make sure you can sit comfortably in the seats. Because I am a woman and have a smaller frame.
My Grandparents got a Jeep Liberty Sport. It has ALL the goodies on it. My grandma loves the way it rides, but the fit is to snug for my grandpa, as i have come to realize it is for ALOT of men.
SO Gentlemen, test drive it WELL before purhcase and make sure it is good on the legs and backs....
But our Jeeps? They are out little Chariots! We LOVE them!...read morehide
