Logging down the road was to tough to tell. The 10 clylinder was to much horse power.

Choose this car over an AMG any day. However, it is a tag ostentacious and almost looks offensive.

Recently my brother in law bought this car and he says its great. I have also driven it and it truly is a masterpiece from lamborghini. Right now I own an aston martin vanquish and a mercedes benz SL600 but they dont compare at all to the gallardo. It is truly a wonderful car.

A really well produced car. One of the best performances for a car. Nice colors for this car, really a very excellent car.

In reply to John Warnick from Cumberland, Maryland and his American Muscle article concerning the Viper and the performance figures it boasts in comparison to the Lamborghini Gallardo, Mr Warnick fails, miserably, to mention the fact that the Lamborghini has been made to put the power down onto the road whilst going round corners too. Having driven both cars, it becomes blatently obvious that the Viper has been made predominently for the US market and straight roads. The Lamborghini has poise, stature and a racing heritage that make it a pure thuroughbred. The sure-footedness inspires confidence and allows you drive through corners fast, safe in the knowledge that the suspension and overall setup of the car will get you round any bend in one piece.....unlike the viper...read morehide

I recently had the privilege of thoroughly testing a Gallardo. Being in a car this caliber quickly makes you understand the powerful extent of sports and luxury. The engine has the sound of pure machinery. My test car did not have E-Gear, but shifting in a conventional manual transmission is very crisp. The Gallardos ride feel is surprisingly relaxed; I was amazed that the car wasnt pounding over every irregularity that a road may have. The interior is simple. There are no awkward dials and knobs to fiddle around with; just practical instruments that help you keep your focus on the road. The performance of the car is unbelievable. The large displacement of the engine allows you to accelerate faster and faster and is a testament to Audis engineering. The speed of the car is very flirty, as if the car is pushing the driver to fully exploit its potential. Normal driving situations will leave the driver wanting more than he can take, however driving on tracks is tons of fun, but demands common sense. Power delivery is smooth, it doesnt have the monstrous blast of power like the Porsche GT2. Tight corners will reveal this cars brutish traits, good and bad. Even with all the refining the Gallardo went through and being smaller than the Murcielago, it is still a heavy car. The mid-engine layout allows for incredible handling with the AWD making oversteer associated with mid-engine cars not a cause of any immediate concern. However, the AWD causes understeer into tight turns and should be kept in mind when driving fast. 8-pot calipers are all you need to say to explain the stopping power of the brakes. Even the 19-inch wheels seem practical in providing that much more rigidity to the handling. I like the styling of the Gallardo over its big sister. The Gallardo has much better lines and a sportier shape and features than the mature-looking Murcielago. People that buy this car just to have another toy will only fall prey to their ignorance. Get a Benz CL if you want to cruise. An occasional weekend pass through Pacific Coast Highway will not do justice to the Gallardos massive abilities and potential. The Gallardo knows how to play and plays hard. Despite being more practical than the Murcielago, especially low-end power for normal driving, its still has a few flaws which ironically come from its best traits (low stance, powerful gas-eating engine, and understeer from AWD). However, these minor flaws are erased or forgiven when you have a good understanding of the car and appreciation for the Gallardos performance beauty. Driving a car of this caliber is a (enjoyable) task in itself. Nothing should hinder a driver from adoring Lamborghinis newest work of art....read morehide
