Pros

Acceleration is nice, nimble and great glove box room. Drives good.

Cons

Road noise, brakes & engine light needs tuning. Small back seat space.

This car is better than the Civic Si and EX and Corolla. For the price, it's definitely a plus. The manual transmission is smooth and fun to drive. I recommend this car.

I loved the car at first but ten months into having the clutch went out. I dont care how bad of a driver anyone is a clutch should not go out that soon on a brand new car.

I like this little car & its really fun to drive. The handleing is great and makes up for the poor acceleration. Sporty lines and fat 17" alloy wheels set this car off nice and your sure to turn some heads. Only drawbacks are: underpowered battery (only 500 cold cranking amps) and when it got to -20 zero, mine wouldn't start. Roadside assistance had to tow it to the dealer. A transmission that has an unbelievbly harsh 1st to 2nd shift when cold. Dealer states its a problem with no solutiion (at this time). Reflashing the PCM did noting to improve it (per their service bulletin) & was to told to drive as is and check tranny fluid weekly....read morehide

Good fuel economy, love music controls on wheel, trim and interior are knockouts...

Cons

Hard to shift into reverse, rear vision while reversing, small backseat leg room.

I do love my car though!!!! (Well i do get to sit in the front)
Speedy, good handling, everything is enjoyable. Just problems reversing.... Hard to shift there.

fuel pump had gone out after only a month of having car.

when i went looking for a new car i was really interested in the new accord but when i went to test drive it i didn't fit. i am 6 foot one and i didn't really have a lot of cars to choose from i tried the matrix, focus, rx8, vw golf, the new honda si, and the wrx sti, i fit into none of them. i didn't really want a truck or suv because i am a 20 year old college student who always carries books and clothes and basically anything that will fit into my car. i love the comfort, the smooth ride, the power, the stereo system, the mpg, and i get a lot of looks driving through town. there are only 4 mazda 3 that i have seen here where i live but i continue to recomend this little car to everyone i meet that asks me what it is. the only real problem that i have had with it is that after only one month of having it the fuel pump had gone out. and i had to drive a rental for the next month. that was the only problem that i have had though. great car!!...read morehide

I can't talk on my cell and shift gears at the same time! Oh well rather be driving it!

I shopped for 6 months for a small car that was sporty yet economical. I can tell you that after I drove the 3/S I quit looking. I couldn't believe the price for one totally loaded out...and the handling well all I know is that my parents Denali AWD was the best driving car I had ever been in until now...the 3 handles like a dream. I opened it up on the Interstate yesterday and was speeding before I even knew it. The ride is so smooth and it handles the curves like a luxury car. Besides the fact that I am a girl and totally into cars, I love the fact that no one knows what kind of car it is...I get asked everyday. Let's just say I'll be a good referal source. My new window cling says "Okay let's focus on me now!" That is how I feel when I am driving my new Mazda 3-S....read morehide

Not enough interior lights for locks vanity mirrors etc.

This car is great except the daily smell of sulfur from the exhaust. The smell just lingers, and makes me and company sick. I should say my 3 is only 2 months old with 2780km, so there should not be this problem. I called the dealer and they said just switch gas, because some have higher sulfur content.OK, So i did, with same results. I called back, and the guy said mazda canada sent out a statement saying the smell has nothing to do with the engine so they are not responsible. I have never had this problem to this extent before, besides the odd smell here and there that are expected from driving in a city,right?...read morehide

I love the way it makes me want to "Zoom, Zoom". Now I understand why my brother is crazy about sports cars. I never understood until now. It feels like I own I sports car--I absolutely love the ride!An added plus is the trunk features.

soft clicking blinkers make me forget to turn it off after lane change, AC is a bit weak

Put on 15000 in 6 months. Nice ride on the highways with firm comfortable seats and adjustable steering column. Accelerates well in city traffic. It really does handle like a much more expensive car.

The car is light, which makes snow-driving a bit tricky. Good ABS brakes, though. I got airbags everywhere I can to make my wife feel safe.

Interior quality is better than average, but the cloth seats on the i-trim feels like it may not last the term of my car payments. Sound system is pretty darned good. Nice to have so much interior storage compartments. The trunk is small.

Wind shield wipers aren't doing their job very well. The AC is weak.

Better than the Corolla and the Civic, both of which I've owned. Test drove the VW Golf, Scion tC, Acura RSX before deciding on the 3.

Overall, an outstanding car for the money. If it turns out to be reliable over the long haul, it may just be the best small car for your money....read morehide
