Just took dilivery of my '04 E500 ...what a car!
Bought the dealers demo, it is a rocket ship! I just cannot understand the negative revues, this car runs like a dream. The brakes , they are awesome , forget about the minor vibrations they give off, once you get used to it (like in 10 miles of driving) you find that they are the best brakes you ever put your foot on.Not to mention the gas pedal lol.what awesome power and acceleration,I beat out my brothers' Corvette.I am impressed but hey , it is a Mercedes,it does just what it should do to any owner or onlooker...Impress. I love the car...I'll tatke it over any 2 seated"sports car" on the road....read morehide

THis is my third Mercedes, previouslt I had a 94 C-280, a 97 E-420 and now this car. By far i have had more mechanical problems with this car than any other MB I have owned. considering a lemon law claim if one more thing goes wrong. Three wheels were out of round within the first 2,500 miles (no potholes), MB was not anxious to replace. The rest of the problems are lectrical, and they are rather constant.
I will probably buy Lexux or Infinit next time....read morehide

We bought a '04 E320 4Matic and after driving it most of the summer can say without a doubt, MB has lived up to their reputation, again. This is our second MB and I can't imagine driving anything else. The 320 doesnt have the power of the 500 or the 55, of course, but still can't be called a slouch. Performance is more than adequate for a car this size for both in town and highway driving. If youre looking for pavement scorching performance, then youll probably want to go up to at least the 500, if not the 55.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We live in Alaska and the 4Matic (ESP/4ETS) is phenomenal. The stability program keeps you on track and virtually eliminates lateral slide in even the worst conditions. ESP monitors the direction of the car vs. the drivers intended course. If there is a problem the stability program kicks in to assist in bringing the car back into a straight line.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As for the service, it is like no other. I have driven other top name vehicles and have never received the service I have since owning a MB. We have taken the car in twice; once for an A service and once for a minor issue with the passenger seat. The A service was performed at a dealer other than where we bought the car and they were just as courteous and friendly as our home dealer. No waiting at either dealer; the service advisors took the car right in; even having a non MB vehicle taken off a rack so ours could go up. Top notch service all around.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My only complaint, and it's a minor one, is that beginning in '05 MB is doing away with the Flex Service System on their vehicles. Also, the ride of the 320 and 500 sedans we drove was a little rough, compared to what we were used to. The multi-link suspension has a different feel to it in the new models that makes the ride a little stiffer than before. Certainly nothing that would stop us from buying the car; instead though we opted for the wagon, which is a little heaver, because of both the ride and the cargo space.

These cars have the look, appointments and above all the safety that is yet unmatched by any other automaker. If you are in the market for a vehicle in this class, do yourself a favor and visit a dealer or check out mbusa.com. There is a lot more to these vehicles than meets the eye. A polished appearance is just a damn nice bonus....read morehide

I came from a 98 BMW M3c. A very differnt car but it was time to grow up. I wanted the E55 but I put a lot of miles and it is a company lease car. I have loved the car. The power, the suspension options, the sound system. I am now looking for after market 20" wheels to perfect the look. I am now a lover of MBZ. It blows away my partners 2004 BMW 530.
Issues? Yes. The AC pump is loud. The door jams crack easily but were replaced at the dealer. Fletcher Jones service department in the OC is fantastic and they provide free car washes! Oh yea. Someone did not like my car and decided to drag their key across 3 panles of the passenger side. $2k later it is back to normal....read morehide

The car sounds like diesel once it warms up. Defect in the purge valve cycling.Took the car several time to the dealer to fix the SOS, Whistling noise inside the car at high speed,Wiper not synchronized, Trunk does not rise to the top when released. There is lots of rateling noise in the car. It is not worth the money. you are paying for the name not quality. Do not buy it. Talk to someone who owns one before you make your decision....read morehide
