Not having a tiptronic shifter

This is the 2nd porsche that I've owened, the first being a boxster. I decieded to buy an S model this time and it was well worth it. Only thing I wish I would have got was a tiptronic.

The car is a great sports car with the power to prove it the proformance handles in this car better than in most sports cars i've ever driven.

I saw an original 550 Spyder in a showroom the other day and now know where Porsche engineers got their ideas for the Boxster--none comes closer to its heritage than the 2004 Boxster S Anniversary Edition. I've never driven a car so beautifully crafted and with such precise handling, perfectly linear acceleration, and snick/snick shifting. The GT Silver exterior is the perfect Porsche color--it's sporty and gorgeous at the same time. The Cocoa Brown Leather interior is warm and inviting. The Cocoa Brown top is classy and a perfect complement to the GT Silver exterior. The exterior color accents in the cabin are well thought out and add a subtle touch of class. The gentle curves, from the flowing asymetrical instrument hood to the upswept door handles add style and grace to an otherwise efficient interior. Shifting gears is effortless and quick. Acceleration is perfectly linear as a strong, flat torque curve pulls you through each gear. Steering is direct with exacting response--lane switching is done with a quick flick of the wheel and no body roll--you feel like you're in a go cart. The throaty exhaust is pure music. You must get the S...well worth it. Fast and handles extremely well. I was considering the new Benz SLK, but it didn't handle nearly as well, in my opinion. Also, I like the classic/sporty look of the Boxster. Blind spot is the only problem, but I try to drive it as much as possible with the top down (eliminates the blind spot). You also get use to using the side mirrors. In any event, on a nice day, I look for excuses to drive somewhere. Great car...so far....read morehide

I bought a used Boxster last year and it had 28K miles on it. It's a good car. The handling is great, but the car does have a few problems. The hand-brake light keeps coming on even if you release the brake and put it all the way down. The lever to release the convertible top does have some problems when you put the top down. The car won't start on me once. I think it gets flooded with gasoline very easily. If you start the engine and turn it off right away, you might run into this problem......read morehide

but without fail get the s, it is much faster and way cooler, also get the 18 inch wheels. the boxster is by far the best way town a porsche. get one

I love my Boxter S. One negative, I am 6' tall, and wish it had just 4 more inches for my legs. The mid-engine design gives you a balanced feel while coming out of a turn! Get it with the Bose sound, and spend the extra to get an awesome color that makes your car unique! The other guy who the FBI is after, I hope he gets back on his medication!...read morehide

I have a boxster w/traction control and love it. Its quick and can handle turns at 50mph+ in LA fwy. It's a chicks magnet vehicle. Topless on nothing.

911 GT3 engine. This car would rock even more, if it had the 380 hp 3.6L GT3 engine. Though I still love this car none the less, it would be even better with the GT3 engine, or GT2 engine, or 911 Turbo engine.

this car loves to be driven.... nothing can catch it. mine is a 2002 model. drove the "S" before i bought the standard boxster with traction control and could not feel the difference in h.p. to warrant the 10K price add.
love it! going on third year and not tired of it yet.
