Purchased As New
I love my 2004 Toyota corolla.I bought brand new and have put 72, 000miles on it in 5 and a half years.I have only spent about 1800 in car maintenance.Just your basic wear and tear.I would definitely buy another Toyota corolla again. The gas mileage is great and the maintenance is affordable.Plus I think it is a cute car.I plan on keeping this car for as long as I can.It has been a great investment. My friend at work has the same car and also loves it it fits her two kids great.Do not listen to the bad reviews some people are just never happy.I would buy this car again....read morehide

Purchased As Used
Listen, I came from a 1988 Ford Tempo. This car is amazing. I appreciate it more not having a nice car before this. With that said, I got this car a few weeks ago and have been having fun driving it all over. Not only are you the first one to zip out of a stoplight, but when you are going 80+ it's still feels like you're driving luxury! I absolutely love it....read morehide

We also have a '90 Camry and it too is excellent. The Camry rides just a touch better than the Corolla, the Corolla handles just a touch better.
Excellent cars, both built in the US by my fellow Americans.

SINCE I'VE OWNED THIS CAR IT HAS BEEN NOTHING BUT TROUBLE, ITS BEEN BACK TO THE DEALER THREE TIMES FOR AN ENGINE THAT RUNS ROUGH AND NO CURE FOR THE PROBLEM

Over the years I,ve owned and driven several cars from nissan, honda, mitsubishi, toyota, ford, chevy, benzes and so I can tell your right now, first things first... the most important component in any vehicle is the NUT behind the wheel!!! The driving skill and preferences can make ANY car seem great or perform absolutly terrible!!!
having said that...whether the corolla is the best car out there is really a matter of opinion...
My two cents worth about the car,, great mileage, almost impossible to beat. Handling is dependable but not excitingly so...its a lightweight car, barely a ton in weight fully loaded, which makes it wobble at high speeds and strong winds, but the engine matches the weight quite nicely. If you enjoy power driving, zippy accelaration, "cool" looks...this isn't the car for you. But if you want dependable, comfortable and hassle free ride from point A to point B...this car can give you that and then some.
My last comment..Overall it's a great piece of well designed "niche" engineering. Well worth the "moolah" you'll dish out for it. Undecided first time buyers won't regret buying it.
By the way, I own 6 cars, 2 are toyotas, one corolla(old reliable)and a land cruiser(the Best in th lot) the others are a Nissan Cefiro (luxurious), Ford F150 (great ride, terrible mileage, use sparingly)Hyundai Starex (Ugh!)and a Honda Civic (way cool). I also own a car repair shop and deal in used cars..so i know a thing or two about what I'm saying....read morehide

The Toyota Corolla is an excellent all round car with comfort and economy in fuel consumption.

THE TOYOTA COROLLA IS ALSO ANOTHER ONE OF THE BEST CARS TO DRIVE. ALTHOUGH THE LATEST EDITIONS OF THE NEWLY REDESIGNED TOYOTA COROLLAS ARE A BIT SMALLER THAN THE 1984-1992 TOYOTA COROLLAS, THEY ARE STILL THE BEST CARS IN THE TOYOTA MARKET. TOYOTA RULES LIFE. PRIDE OF JAPAN!

I have a 2002 xli-corolla, i really love it.. it's cheap, good, relibale, and definitly safe for the guys who says it's not!
I still have it, and have no thought of sell it or trade it with another car .. and if i would trade it i'de trade it with a new version of it!
