The instrument panel is boring and the exterior plain but overall i can't find a reason to trade in my 04' for a Land Rover or a Mercedes Benz. In fact on the contrary if i want to stay away from high price garage fee's and out of rental cars, i've found researching i better stick with my 04'Highlander. Besides i feel safe when driving in rainy , fog and windy weather, and the V6 gives me the power i need to deal with it!!!!! Honestly, under the hood this is one of the best cars ever!...read morehide

Owned a Highlander for two years, over 33,000 miles without a single problem. A SUV that rides like a car and with most SUV pluses.

My 2003 Highlander with 7000 miles has a rattle in the back that is driving me crazy.Service cannot find it.It also has a pump pump sound in the engine which is probably smog device or fuel pump.Other than that it is o.k.At a Price tag of $35600.00 you would think it would do a wee bit better.I am going to trade it off and it will not be a Highlander or Toyota....read morehide

The 4 cyl Highlander is an acceptable "soccer mom" SUV. Few need a V8 or even a V6 to curry around town. Even on the highway at 65-70 mph the tach is only at 2500 rpm. No need to "super-size" cars today. The Highlander drives and handles like a dream. Toyota knowns how to build quality.

I bought the 2004 Highlander last week. I love it! It's cost efficiency and size are the best on the market. I am totally cool with my Highlander.

I currently drive a 2001 Toyota Highlander and scoped out the features for the 2004 V6 4x2 Limited version with leather. I must say it is well equipped and the price is very attractive. The 2004 version is equipped with the new 230hp 3.3L with 5 gears than 4 like the previous models so you get a little better power and gasoline mileage. In comparison to the Honda Pilot, both are outstanding cars. The only difference is the Honda Pilot carrying a 3.5L engine and a slightly longer body. Interior room is about the same but the Honda Pilots steering is a little stiffer so it may be more like a truck like feeling. The Highlander drives like the Camry and handles just like a sedan so I'd go for the Toyota Highlander because of its better handling and equipment....read morehide

Great balance between size, power, and handling. Very car-like, smooth ride with good interior room. It is quick off the line but a little slower for passing. I was looking for a third row seat without having to get a monster full size that gets 12-14 mpg. My only wish is that is was a few inches longer....read morehide

The Highlander is a great suv except for the sunroof. It is very difficult to tell when the roof is in the fully closed position. I would never again waste my money on this poorly designed option.

I just bought a highlander a month ago and its the best investment I've ever made on the car. There is ample room for anything imaginable, the seats are very comfortable and its a very smooth ride. The gas mileage is not bad at 18mpg in the city compared to other SUV's. Im extremely happy with it
