2004 Toyota RAV4 User Reviews

Besides the Toyota 4-Runner and Toyota Camry being one of the best Toyotas to own and drive, the Toyota Rav-4 is also another one of the best cars to many drivers. Toyota, Nissan, Lexus, Honda, and Acuraare cars with V-4 and V-6 engines that come in different horsepowers. So for many of you who enjoy driving Toyota, Nissan, Lexus, Honda, and Acura cars, I would also like to recommend the 2004 Toyota RAV-4.

its a nice car but the room in the back seats only 2 people instead of 3 its gas ifficient but i would get a honda C-RV instead of this thing

My first Rav4 was a manual (5 speed)1998. I LOVED IT! Traded it in for a standard in 2002 and have regretted it every since then. The automatic Rav4 is slow and sluggish and sounds like my sons gas powered remote controlled car he plays with in front of our house. The manual not only had better gas mileage (27-30 mpg) it handled better and was way fun to drive. I'll never make the mistake of changing to an automatic again. I'll probably buy another Rav4 again but this time I'll buy one that allows you to drive the car, not the car drive you....read morehide

i drove mainly local. I only got 20~21 MPG on my 2WD. It is a lot lower than what they claim 24/30 and I use the highest grade gas. Other than the MPG, i like the car. it looks a lot better than CRV.

She was having a hard time getting in and out of her 1998 Buick Regal and wanted the same ease of entry and exit as my 1998 Plymouth Voyager. After test driving all comparable vehicles, she loved the RAV4's superior blend of handling, styling, entry/exit and value. Now she's her old self again! And it's easy to clean....read morehide

I drove my RAV4, 4x4 mainly only local and gets about 20 MPG as well. I also noticed if you use the cheaper Gas, the engine knocks a bit. So, I switched to Super, 93 only. The car is faster and MPG also went up to about 22 MPG local driving. I really like the new 2004 2.4 VVTI engine. It has much higher performance compared to 03 Model which make the RAV,04 so much fun to drive. I managed to upgade the ratio so I can cancel out the road noise a bit. Our car was a 2000 standard shift. We were in a head on collision on 580 highway-wall. we walked away thank God but, the rear-view mirrior flew off and hit my 11 year old son in the face. He was sitting in the back seat on the passenger's side. The impact caused him to have a hair line fracture of the top lip. His face was swollen and his nose was bleeding profusely. The engine lacks power and torque, the seats are uncomfortable, and the interior is minimalistic. I bought my RAV4 for Toyota reliability and a superior SUV gas mileage. But that came at quite a price

I love this car and plan to own it (or a newer updated version of it made by Toyota) in the future! A.S.
