I just traded in my 2000 tundra for the new 04 double cab limited. the truck is only a month old and I have 0ver 12,000 kms on it. This truck is awesome. it has everything I loved in the old tundra plus more. I'd like to say i'll keep this one forever, but I hear in 06 the tundra will be redesigned and maybe offered in a diesel. But for now i'm 100% happy with this one...read morehide

I had high expectations for this truck, so maybe that's why I am so disappointed with it. The muffler noise is the main problem. At mild acceleration it sounds like a sick cow, and at highway cruising there's a constant irritating high pitch noise. When I talked to Toyota about it, they said this was normal for this model. Besides the muffler noise, there's also a fair amount of tire drone and wind noise. The bench seat is too reclined for my taste. On the plus side, the tundra handles and rides very good for a truck. I owned a 2000 Tundra and loved it. I waited for 4 years for Toyota to come out with the Double cab. (I hated the access doors on the 2000, especially if I was in a parking lot trying to load groceries. If anyone was parked in the next stall, it was like a maze to get the doors opened to put stuff in) I just purchased a 2004 Tundra Double Cab Limited. It has a DVD player, and I lifted it 4.5", and placed 33" tires on new rims. It still rides like a cadillac! There are three minor things that Toyota could improve upon.. the armrests should be wider. The center console should be taller and padded on the top. And the tailgate pull should be the same as the door handles.(the current ones are killers on the fingernails if your hand slips) I researched every full size truck on the market, and drove all of them. Tundra beats them all, hands down, for the comfort and the ride!...read morehide

I purchased my double cab back in december and love the truck. The only complaint is the paint chips easily and as of mid may toyota still doesnt offer a mask or running boards for the double cab.

One of the best riding trucks I have ever owned. It has plenty of power in the V-8 to pull a boat or a trailer full of Fourwheelers. I would recommend this truck to any of my friends. My current tuck is the 2004 Toyota Tundra 4x4 V-8 access cab. I would recommend getting the four door if you can offord the extra money...read morehide
