Purchased As Used
Before I drove the A4, I had to drive an Oldsmobile Sierra Cutlass from 1990 and a Nissan Quest-1995. Finally getting a car that was actually functioning was a good change. For starters, it's a very nice car - aesthetically pleasing. There's a lot of space for me as the driver and whoever is lucky enough to call shotgun. On that note, I've had to sit in the backseat of my own car, and I have to say, it's ridiculously uncomfortable. My legs were squished against the driver's seat, so I ended up lying down across the seat in order to get more space. In the past year that I've had this car, I've had some minor problems. My heater has already broken, the coolant is leaking, there were issues with my brakes, and now my parking brake is no longer functioning. Despite those, the overall driving experience in the Audi A4 was worth it. The ride is smooth and easy to control. The tiptronic function is always fun to use. However, because it's turbo, the acceleration is a little bit hard, and takes a while to get up to the speed limit....read morehide

Purchasing this Audi turned out to be a huge mistake. The sales staff was unprofessional. I actually had to ask my sales rep to please show me how to use the features before I left the dealership. An Audi tech poked a hole in my windscreen, and then denied doing this. The top malufunctioned and leaving us stranded with the top half opened and the Audi tech didn't know how to manually lower the top. Then the air bag failed, modules were replaced, alignment issues, and on and on ...and the car wasn't two months old! Because of all the issues (too many to name here) I spoke to several people within Audi and asked that they replace this lemon with a quality car. They were not helpful, and only could respond that all the warranty issues were 'unusual'. During the first 6 months of use, it was in the garage for more that 15 days. After 6 months of headache, I traded this car in for a new Saab yesterday.......read morehide

I have a 2003 A4 that I bought new and have had it into the shop at least 3 times this year for problems (and they weren't minor issues). Oh and by the way, the brakes squeak (and have for nearly 1.5 years) -which Audi tells me is perfectly normal. I will never buy another Audi again. And to top it off - the trips to the service centers don't compensate for the problems - dealt with two different dealerships each as worse as the other....read morehide

The buttons are too small and uncomfortably located on the climate control unit. A bit underpowered. The AUDI castrated the engine to 170 HPS to have a good reliability I guess. A tt pushes 225 HPs from the same engine. Tranny died, sinchros of the 1st gear went since you have to shift to the first gear while the vehicle is moving slowly. Yes it is capable of stalling in the 2 gear while moving slow. It took 29.5 days to fix the gear box; 0.5 more days and that car would be a lemon. It is a dealers fault. Stay away from Zumbach Motors in Manhattan. The sales people are nice, but repairs are just horrible. I cant begin to describe. Just go somewhere else to fix your car, it will save you a lot of frustration and airtime on your cell phone. Oh yeh and in the other dealership they may not steal your CD collection....read morehide

I bought the 2005 V6 3.0. It's more then I expected. Moves like a dream. The front cup holder is in an odd place but tho. Cool dash board. This thing drives tight and true.

Okay, I forgot to mention in my other review that 170 ponies and comparable torque is not a forerunning engine for high end performance. This should already be known when purchasing a car designed for a proper blend of fun and relaxation.
Also, in response to the "suv, truck, etc" response from florida I have a question. Didn't you test drive the vehicle before buying it?
Personally, this car has EXTREMELY GOOD BREAKS, both front and rear brakes are wide-diameter performance brakes, and has SAVED MY LIFE on the NJ Turnpike during high speed traffic. My car went from 80 to about, 0 mph in less than an 1/8th of a mile, and I lodged between a semi and a minivan without a scratch on my car.
My friend said, "If I was driving I don't think the outcome would have been the same, my car doesn't handle as well are yours", immediately after I stopped. He drives a fully loaded 2005 v6 accord coupe.
Regarding the car's acceleration, it can keep up with any car on the road in terms of merging into traffic or fast driving. You'll have no problem getting into the lanes you want to get in to.

You have to be smooth on the gas at low speeds, because the variable transmission responds to the engine liking a steady flow of gas. Other than this driver oriented issue, this car is fantastic.
It is not for someone who wants a sports car. If you want a sports car, buy a sports car. The a41.8T that I own is responsive, agile, and handles curves like my hands handles my lady. All joking aside, this car is an excellent buy.
I especially like the fact that my car is a special edition with the cold weather package (a must for a snowboarder). You feel cozy inside this car when there's snow on the ground and falling. It's actually one of those awesome feelings you get when you can truely appreciate something, or is it the heated seats toasting my rear? Who knows, who cares, this car is really nice and smart to purchase.
Last note, I get 400-450 miles per tank (and I don't run my tank dry)....read morehide
