My car is actually a 1998 LX with ALL avail options except power roof, first year of the current body style, and is in like new condition still, with 57,000 miles. I bought it used last year for only $8500. Very dependable, comfortable, decent MPG for the size and weight. The touring package with the dual exhaust and quicker steering makes it feel like a smaller car. I am not tempted to trade it for a newer car, as it is safe and very dependable. AND it's exactly like a 2006!!! Often mistaken for a Lincoln or a police car....read morehide

I own a2004 Crown Vic Sport and I wouldn't own anything else. As many have found out, many Mustang peroformance parts carry over so I am probably around 300+ HP for mine. It handles very well for its size and I am well pleased with the performance & durablity of this vehicle. Many import owners are surpirsed when they don't win off the line, ha ha!
On a side note, I also drive these vehicles for a local police agency. About three weeks ago I lost control of my CV and skidded across the road, flipping the car over at least 3 times. I was able to even get out of the car to radio for assistance (yes, Virginia, ther is a God.). The Sgt said the car even started and ran even after all that! Now that is one tough car! I will never, never, not ever own anything else, especially not for fuel mileage....read morehide

Ford's Crown Victoria is one of the best cars ever made. You can ask Taxicab drivers and Police Depts all over the world how well they do. I have owned a 95' CV P71 that had 330k and ran like a champ and was fast. I bought a Chip and Flowmasters and it went everywhere. I sold it for a newer 2000 Police Interceptor Blk/Blk w/only 114k and I will put more on her. After owning 2 I would definately buy another and I recommend this car to anyone. Plus it has a ultra-smooth ride and for a big car it has decent mpg & Others will MOVE out of your way on the HWYs....read morehide

I passed my road test on a '67 Ford Galaxie my father owned at the time and inheritted the car from him. I've driven it and a '72 Galaxie until this summer and really didn't want a car with electronic ignition or fuel injection. Parts for the older cars became harder to come by and involved longer delivery times and I finally had to give in and buy a new car. Aside from taking off from a stop (where it could use a little more power and torque), the new car performs very much like the old ones -- performance that has pleased me since my youth. The quietness and smoothness of the ride amaze me. Gas mileage is almost twice what my older cars get. I am disappointed that the new car is manufacturer rated to tow only 1500 or 2000 pounds GTW (depending on which Ford publication you look in). One of the few options I got was the single CD player and I am very pleased with its performance....read morehide

After adding chrome wheels and tinted windows, the Vic is a good-looking ride. Handling is hardly sportscar like, but a great highway cruiser. Paint is better than average but needs a good "claying" and wax to get up to spec. Not crazy about the chrome-plated plastic used for the grille. Wish there were aftermarket billet replacements as there are for many trucks and import cars. The Vic was added to the family fleet and didn't replace any vehicles. It's now the family choice for most medium to long trips....read morehide

Moving up from a '96 CV to the '05 CV Sport, I've noticed a slight drop in MPG, probably due to higher HP. Drive is comfortable, steering wheel controls and auto-dim inside rear-view mirror are most appreciated additions. A couple of disappointments, no indication of being in Cruise-Control, despite very easy to operate buttons and operation. Also, out '96 CV-LX was equipped with cornering lights, something out '04 Grand Marquis Sport also has, but they are gone from the '05 model. An interesting note is that the instrument cluster is identical to the '96 model (which is nearly identical back to the '92 models). I guess if it ain't broke, Ford doesn't feel a need to fix it, except for the cruise-control signal light not yet being invented. Performance of the '05 CV Sport is peppy, and with the improved suspension car handles well when S. Calif freeway speeds allow any over 15 mph. Ergonomics are a little strained for the A/C and heater, with limited controls on the steering wheel. (Our Grand Marquis has a wider range of controls on the steering wheel making driving a little safer while trying to cool down or warm up.) Trunk space is immense with room for everything including the kitchen sink. The only car I have owned with a larger trunk was a 1964 Lincoln Continental sedan, and our Grand Marquis which is identical, but this one is close and with proper design the space is really usable. Prior to buying the Crown Victoria LX Sport I looked at the new Chrysler 300 and the Dodge Magnum. While these cars both have a bit sportier appearance, I think for drive-ability, the CV is the winner when it comes to usefullness for the motorist....read morehide

THE CAR IS A GREAT BEAST WITH AMPLE POWER. BUT FORD SHOULD REALLY ADD MORE PUNCH WITH A BIGGER ENGINE. THIS CAR WILL REALLY CATCH ON FIRE. BUT FOR THE MONEY AND STYLE WITH COMFORT AND SAFETY. I WILL ALWAYS CONSIDER THIS GREAT MACHINE OVER ANY OTHER.

Love my CV Sport. Same as Mercury Marauder except for no tach, larger tires and tail pipes and maybe a bit more horsepower otherwise almost the same. Drove Maurauder and CV Sport and could not tell the difference except for the howl the Marauder puts out from the tail pipes when the pedal hits the medal.
Great Car. Friends kid me about it looking too much like a police car which is very irritating to me.
Reliable and quality made. Rides great and handles well. Uses regular gas which is great too unlike Marauder which uses premium.
Not my fathers CV. People call the CV an old persons car but the sport is not. It is muscle at its best.
Simular to 1994-96 Impala SS.
