I have 5 kids and 7 grandkids so far and I love all the room. this is our 2nd Excursion and I guess our last since they are discontinued.
I love the style and the comfort the back seat is roomier than any other suv's I"ve seen . My grandkids love the dvd player in the back
Quietest rides Ive ever had with them. We had an entended cab F150
before and we only got 15 mpg. We are up to 14 on the Excursion and
we"ve only had it 2 weeks. It is well worth the money. think about bringing it back Ford in about 2010 because I ll need another one about then....read morehide

The 2001 limited has the complete Banks Power Pack. Now... at 45mph we're getting 32mpg, and at 65mph we're getting 23mpg. Fact is that this very article showed 174 SUVs, roughly half are 2006. So, at about 87 models we find only 27 2006 models that got better gas milage and three of those were hybrids. Now, don't forget that the test vehicles were driven under perfect conditions so the real values of these vehicles are probably less than predicted. Now, go show this article to all the tree huggers, then ask them why three fourths of all SUVs made in 2006 perform worse(gas milage wise) than a 2001 excursion with a 7.3 diesel. Yes, those of us who drive these diesel models also realize that the overhaul is in the 250,000 mile range... about twice that of a gas engine. Because this vehicle is built on a frame there will never be structural fatigue like you'll find with those 'unibody' models, which means my doors will still shut at 250,000 miles like new. Finally, we've pulled a 37' RV behind this SUV, through more than half the states and across the eastern half of Canada. Once, we even added a 12' box trailer behind the 37' RV trailer. Now, you know there truly is NO match for the Excursion... including the Hummer and the 3/4 ton Suburban!...read morehide

This obsenity and the Hummer are Saudi Arabia's royal family's favorite car. This is why Ford is laying off 30, 000 workers. No vision.

We bought a 2005 4x4 v10 ford excursion limited and absolutly love it cant complain at all. It is really roomy and rides really smooth, test drove suburban and was not really impressed, have to say the excursion was nicer so dont know why they dog the excursion. i have got 18 mpg on the hwy the best i ever got so far but avg 15-16 in hwy and in town i average 12-13 so really gets good gas mileage for such a huge vehicale. i plan to add accessories to the excurion and hopefully lookin for 18-19 in town and 23-24 on hwy once i add the acc. i will let you know how the mpg. the roomy interior is very good for the trips and love the dvd system in the back. i also love the steering wheel audio controls and reverse sensor very helpful in times but hate it when i have it loaded with a trailer it drives me nuts.one thing i dislike about the excursion is when it idles my rpms are really high and burns fuel like crazy. also another thing i hate was when i brake the excursion vibrates a whole lot and so im bout to upgrade the rotors and brakes....read morehide

I owned a 2000 Excursion Limited with the 5.4L. Underpowered yes due to the engine size but I also drivin the Excursion V10 and the powerstroke and it does great when towing. It rides rough becasue it was built on a truck frame. Nothing really wrong with it. Although I wish Ford would keep building the Excursion. But I am planing to but the 05 Excursion. What is disapointing is the 05 Excursion didn't recived the 05 F250/F350 dash update....read morehide

I absolutely recommend this beast. It gives you command and presence on the road. Lot's of room. The powerstroke turbo 6.0 V8 is powerful and the gas mileage for this size of a truck is uncomparable 16 city and 22 highway. The ride (shock replacements) and roof rack can be modified to equal or better the escalades and the denali's. I took advantage of the maintenance contract ($1500.00 for the 5yr 60K mi.) because oil changes are about $125.00 a pop and the 30K and 60K tuneups are about $550.00 bucks. In addition to tuneups, it includes brake pads, oil changes, belts, wiper blades, etc... The only difference between this eddie b and the limited is the two tone seats. It has the visor remote for garage, heated leather seats, 6 disk cd player, dvd with wireless headphones, memory seating, etc. Take advantage of X plans and any rebates. A lot of good used ones are available due to the gas prices. Not too many Excursions out there, so it's kind of exclusive to drive one....read morehide

2002 Limited with 7.3 turbo . Plenty of power and fuel milage is comparable to other large SUVs. Getting 15mpg city and 19~21 mpg highway. Plenty of power and parking is easier than my 2000 F250 CC.
Entertainment system is a must for my two small children on long trips. Good quality equipment. Will probably buy a 2005 due to Ford's decision not to make this great SUV after 2005....read morehide
