looks great, just like a little jag.....it stood out....stylish.handles good, i love my car.

I hear a noise underneath the driver side.

Just looking its stands out. Its have a very expensive look to it. You can barely hear the engine on its so quite. I see alot of cars, I work at a car dealership and this the Sonata caught my eye. I just love my car.

Warranty helped me make the decision to buy my 2nd Sonata. Dealer stood buy warrenty issues with my last sonata. Good dealer service, classy car with an identity of its own. I'd buy a 3rd sonata.

Nothing I've noticed so far

We purchased our 2005 Sonata almost two months ago. It was a demonstrater with 3,800 miles on it. We bought a black one and it has the tan interior. The V6 is pretty responsive and seems adequate as far as power is concerned, I wanted the V6 because we live in the mountains of Western, N.C. and I felt it would come in handy. This car rides like a luxury car it is quiet and an enjoyable car to drive. This is an up and coming company and the AMerican made as well as the Japanese brands are going to have some tough competition when people realize how much car you get for the money. Warranty is great there's not one of the American big three who apparently has that much confidence in their cars to 6 year 50,000 mile bumper to bumper and 10 year 100,000 mile power train on their vehicles.
Gas mileage so far has been 18.3 to 21.7 in town and 31.7 highway. Though the SOnata for 06 is redesigned it looks like good and has more opions as well as standard options than the 05. Great family car or for someone looking for a touch of luxury without the price....read morehide

Very good value for the price. Smooth ride, great stereo, and plenty of room. I've driven more expensive cars that can't match this vehicle on performance.

I've driven a lot of different vehicles and with the exception of one or two, I've got no complaints. This 2005 Sonata LX was my first new vehicle purchase and for that I had to have it fully loaded. Handles well and no complaints about the power. I knew I wasn't getting a Ferrari here, so I don't expect it to handle like one either. It is a good value to the consumer, and Hyundai has really come a long way since their initial release back in the 80's. I'm glad I didn't wait for the 2006s to be released, I like the (pre-06) style much better....read morehide

Upgraded from a 2001 Elantra to the 2005 6 cyc Sonata GLS. Everything you could want in a luxury car without the luxury car price. Handles well, responsive steering, braking and simulated woodgrain dash appointments set the luxury tone for the interior. Seats are comfy and lumbar adjustment is perfect for long drives. Enough legroom in the front to accommodate the over 6 footer in the family. Sound system is great for CD's and tapes only drawback is that it only takes one CD at a time. Not to pleased with the sound quality for the radio. Love the retracting antenna. Ideal for on the street parking and the car wash. Even if you could afford a more expensive car, why would you spend the money if you can get the same quality for 1/2 the price. Highly recommend this manufacturer for all your vehicles needs. Hyundai Sonata? More like Hyundai lousy car, hahahahahah! atleast i got to know my dealer's repair man by first name, geez this thing is like driving a riding lawn mower made by Hyundai. I actually started to roll backwarsd when I was trying to drive up a mountain. Luckily the brakes didn't work, so i actually made it back down. If you want a death wish, buy a Hyundai....read morehide
