I have owned one for a month now, and am very happy with my purchase. The sporty look and lines are really attractive. I do construction side work and have plenty of room to load up my tools. I was vey surprised about how much stuff i could put in the back when i laid the seats down. I live in colorado, and it handles great in the snow.
I have gotten alot of looks and coments on how it looks. I wasnt even looking to purchase this car, but after driving it and seeing all the pro's from the price to the milage i have been getting, it so far has been the best purchase i have made. And am glad that i bought it....read morehide

Over all. The car is everything that KIA states it is. even at 44000 km the car is still tight and the org tires are still great in the snow. And yes. even in 12 inches of snow. The seat took a little getting us to but teh old back is in the swing now. Shifting, very tight and right there when you need it. Passing is a breeze. From 50 mph to 70 mph in a heat beat. Of cource mine is a standard. The only way to go if you want a small car. The 2006 features have changed little but I would buy another for sure.. Hope they keep this line going for sometime. I personally have pushed my Spectra5 up over the 120MPH mark ... On a deserted country road.... I was shocked the car was capable, and ungoverned according to my local dealer. I have also learned that KIA is going to market many HIGH performance aftermarket dealer add-ons, such as: Turbocharger, Supercharger, Tuned Suspension Modifcations, CatBack Exhaust Systems and many others according to the dealer....read morehide

Great car for the price. The speakers blew out within two weeks of owning the car and I did not turn the radio up that loud. Also, having owned a Saturn I was usd to quality customer service. The Evergreen Kia in Illinois provided the worst service I have ever experienced. Overall though, an excellent car for the money....read morehide

I've had my Spectra V for 6 months now. I've put only 4,500 miles on it during that time. The car gets driven everyday just not long distances. My biggest gripe is the front air dam. It came off at the 1,500 mile of owning the car. I talked with KIA directly and they wouldn't fix it. I don't believe this is a user problem but a engineering problem. My drive way is flat and it was scraping the air dam everytime we pulled up. We had a big rain storm and the air dam filled with water and came off. Don't get me wrong this is the only problem I've had with the car. I've been searching if KIA has done anything about this on the 2006, but they haven't. I suggest taking off the front air dam and putting it back on when you decide your going to trade it in. I won't buy the replacement part, because the likelihood is it will come off again. The car as a whole is pretty good, but if you can afford it I would go with the Mazda 3 or the Toyota Matrix....read morehide

There were so many options,we presumed it had cruise as our Sportage was a lower package and had cruise. Wish calesman told us it didnt have cruie!!!

Rear Speakers Weak, but who keeps those anyway?

I bought my Platinum Silver Spectra5 Sept. 09, 2005. It is my first new car and I am so happy that I made my choice with Kia Spectra5. I get great gas mileage, everyone stops me to tell me how nice looking my car is and where can they get one. I love the warranty, you know that you have a good car when the company is going to stand behind their product for 10 years 100,000 miles. The dealership experience was good, the service experience has been good as they ordered me new rear speakers. Compared to the other competitor vehicles Kia takes the top prize in my book, I have recommended this vehicle to everyone that I know that is looking for a new vehicle. have had problems with shifter

ok so i love my car (I got the blue one) but when i got it home the darn key wouldnt come out of the ingnition! It turns out the key in the ignition gets too hot when you drive it for a longer period of time or something. they never really explained the problem, but it also had to do with the shifter. had to go back to the dealership 3 different times and i didnt get to really drive my car until FOUR days after i purchased it...the only thing i get for my "inconvinience" is a car wash...yippie...anyways other then that mishap i love my car! i have yet to find anything that i dont like about it...well the stereo is kind of weak...it doesnt turn up very loud and the speakers in the back are weak...read morehide

Customer service does not exist. Read the warranties. You will not get it if its not written. New car it leaks water inside and smells like a moldy shower.
