Beware of this car! It will be in the Nissan shop alot!!
We bought this car in 2004 and loved it's design and features. It rides well and has a great engine. That's where the honeymoon ends.
The gas mileage is horrible. Not anywhere near the sticker rating. It's been in the shop no less than 10 times in 2 years. The most recent was yesterday where I was informed that after 30k miles that it needs new brakes on both the front and the back. Here is the quote from the dealer "you are lucky - we had to replace our courtesy shuttle (also a quest van) brakes at 25k miles and most customers are doing it every 20k". You've got to be kidding!!!!
We have had issues with doors that won't shut. Sliding doors that creak, moan, and pop on every little bump in the road. Lights that won't turn off. Sun-roofs that leak (still do after 3 times in the shop). The shifter nob fell off shifting into reverse. The rear wiper fell off in the car wash. The plastic engine protective plate fell off somewhere in the middle of Nevada on a cross country road trip. The tire air pressure light never goes off - ever!!! The sliding sun roof cover snags on the backside of the roof mounted DVD player and tears the cloth. The knobs to control the air/heat are the most ridiculously engineered things in the world. Both keychain remotes stopped working about 3 months ago and nobody can explain why even after new batteries. My remote craked the first week in my pocket.
Get the idea??? Nissan got so beat up over this car they sent us an extension of our factory warranty for 5 years instead of the normal 3. Even still, it does not cover new brakes every 20k miles, and it did not pay for the missing wiper that fell off in the car wash or the engine plate that fell off in Nevada. For some reaon when things just fall off the car under normal use it's not the manufaturers fault....read morehide

Worse Minivan on the road. CR gives worst reliability rating. My transmission has been replaced. Even with that the seals on the transmission leak and have been repaired 3 times. Car has been out of service for 42 days. Sometimes it won't change gears. The door rattles have been repaired 3 times. They still rattle. Nissan has not attempted to work out kinks. Look at the boards they are overwhelmingly negative. This van is a nightmare lemon. 26000 miles of torture. Kia has better reliabilty than the Quest. Nissan was on a Quest to make a minivan. Boy did they ever fail....read morehide

After our dud Ford Windstar (my wife really wanted an SUV) and after lots of research, I finally convinced her to look at the Quest. She loved the looks immediately. We test drove the Odyssey and Sienna just for comparison, since so much good things are said about them. So, we bought the SE with Skyview and DVD. Five months on and a 1500 mile road trip, I love it, kids love it, and she loves it. Let our friends take it for a drive, they loved it, too, enough that they traded their minivan for one (they were looking to get a new vehicle anyway).
Value is on par with Toyota and Honda. This vehicle has get up and go, doesn't drive like our last minivan. Handles like a car. Only complaint, the mileage isn't as I'd hoped for (maybe it's my wifes driving habits though)....read morehide

Don't buy this piece of junk unless you want to spend 2 trips a month for 2 years. I traded my 2-year old 2004 Quest in for a 2005 Toyota Sieanna and couldn't be happier. Things that went wrong were:
- cranks forever
- loss of power annually
- powered sliding door keeps reversing and still isn't fixed.
- vibrations at fwy speeds
- gas gauge shows empty after a fill-up twice
- passenger air bag shows off even when adult sits there
- replaced radio keypad twice
- lights falling out of ceiling
- door panels coming off
- glove compartment warped
- shifter replaced
- radio antenna weak
- headrests are too far from your head so you can get a serious whiplash if you are rear-ended.
- 3rd row seats' headrests must be taken off before seat can fold flat in floor whereas Toyota Sienna's headrests don't need to be taken off.
- humungous turning radius makes parking difficult (Toyota Sieanna has smallest turning radius)
I had previously owned 2 Nissan Maximas but when corporate doesn't even give me a measley $500 service credit for all my troubles, I will NEVER buy another Nissan....read morehide

The Nissan Quest is a great vehicle! I have been a SUV mom for over 10 years now and absolutely love my new Quest! Even the base model 3.5 has more standards (DVD player & extra storage pockets & niches) than other comparable minivans I looked at. My kids love the Quest with the captains chairs in the 2nd row. We no longer have fights about where anyone is sitting, everyone seems to be happy and no one ever fights over "shot gun" anymore! The wireless headphones make even the shortest trip a pleasure. The Quest rides like a car, nice and smooth. It has very good pick up and go. Turning radius is good even with it being a little longer than most other minis. Storage area is good and the grocery bag hooks are great (no more spilled groceries across the back)! We are a family of six and have plenty of room for everyone and everything, even our teenager thinks the Quest is "cool looking." I thought the placement of the center control area would be "wierd" but I actually like it, it makes driving at night even easier. I never thought I'd be a minivan mom, but I am and am loving my Quest....read morehide

First minivan after leasing three Altimas with spectacular results. 3.5 SL Majestic Blue paint is great and exterior is outstanding. Interior is spacious with a lot of storage options throughout the van. DVD system is parents dream, even the wife sits back there to watch. Wireless headsets are cool but not used often.
Driving in NYC Lower than expected gas mileage- average 18mpg city maybe 20 mpg on hwy. The grade of gasoline effects horsepower so stick with the 89 or 91 for maximum performance. The roads are slowly killing this car after 3 months. The interior squeking is irratating. It sounds like everthing needs tightening. Can't turn on/off interior rear lights from up front. Dashboard reflects in windshield at first was distracting, but now dont notice it anymore.
So far the features outweigh the negatives and the car drives/handles great. Great for suburban families that have nicely paved roads to travel on....read morehide

Christian at AutoPlace Nissan Infiniti provided this tour of this Quest - more room than any van I ever saw! The 2nd row seats are extremely wide, deep and room. behind the 3rd row seat, the floor goes down deeper than the floor by almost a foot, so there is amazing room. Over all the Quest provided more power than the Toyota and Honda, was roomier by leaps, and is quite comfortable. With the rebate it's a lot of van for the money....read morehide

I haul 4 adults and 3 kids in mine. The van is very easy to get in and out of and everyone seems to be happy riding around in it. It takes a little time to get used to the dash, but it doesn't take long. The Dash looks cool at night, but I find the LCD backlit trip odometer too bright at night. It's a bit big in my opinion. When I dim the gauges to cut the glare at night, the other gauges are a bit too dark. I mentioned it to the dealer and he said others have complained as well. Since the dash it up higher, it kind of looks like a night-light glaring at you. I'm distacted by it. I think they need to use a lower wattage bulb or make the back light orange instead of white. An easy fix. It has plenty of power and it is fun to drive. I like it because it's so different from everything else out there. At 2500 miles the driver side front hub and antilock wheel sensor went out. We were an hour from home, so I was pretty mad about it. Took 5 days to get the parts in stock to fix it. At least I got a loaner from the dealer .... unfortunately it was an Altima and not a Quest (or larger). We got the "stock" Quest which has a lot of options standard. The power doors of the "S" model would have been nice, but I see it as once less thing to break. Our old van had one manual sliding door, so this is a step up....read morehide

My Wife dragged me kicking and screaming to the Nissan dealer to check out the Quest. I didn't want a "minivan" because they all seemed too plain as far as styling and performance. All it took was a test drive, and I was ready to trade off the Suburban. We bought the 3.5SE with the DVD system in Majestic Blue. The interior is wonderful with the added light from the skylights. I like having an unobstructed view out of the front due to the offset instrument panel, and have found the Radio and climate controls easier to reach than with conventional dashboards. The cornering abilities of this van are phenomenal!! Ours came with the 17" wheels. (a must for the twisty roads)
I never thought I'd say this, but we absolutely LOVE our "Sliding Door Sports Car"....read morehide

WE HAVE HAD VERY BAD EXPERIENCES WITH DODGE AND PLYMOUTH MINI VANS IN THE PAST AND DECIDED TO TRY THE QUEST VAN. WE ARE TALKING NIGHT AND DAY HERE. THIS VAN IS SOOO COMFORTABLE AND EASY TO DRIVE MY WIFE AND I ARE USUALLY FLIPPING A COIN TO SEE WHO DRIVES. WE HAVE MADE TRIPS OF 1200 TO 1300 MILES IN THIS VAN AND NEITHER OF US ARE TIRED OR ROAD WEARY AFTER THE DRIVE. PLENTY OF ROOM AND WE CAN ACTUALLY TAKE OUR SEATS WITH US! WE LOVE THIS VAN....read morehide
