Purchased As Used
Overall a good car, there's a small noise when driving, battery doesn't last very long, not really good for families.

We bought this as a second car for long commutes. We traded out of a 16mpg SUV and opted for this Special Edition package. So far it's been great. Our only real complaints are that you have to search far & wide for the ABS/Side airbag package, and the engine struggles when you have more than one passenger. Insurance is higher than expected too. But for the price, it can't be beat. Corolla & Civic can't touch this price for the features. Also, as summer 2006 rolls up you should be able to get this car for really cheap before the all-new replacement comes....read morehide

i think the performance and pickup is adequate. i do not like that it squeaks on backup. i do not like the horn not working right. i asked dealer to check - they did nothing. its ok.

When I traded in my 325i I was saddened to see it go. Then I bought my SpecV in Feb '05 and have had a smile on my face ever since. This car roars with the best of them. If you are into speed, this car delivers 10 fold! For the price of around $17k, no other car on the planet can touch this one. Upgrades are very affordable and upkeep is nearly nonexhistant. If you are looking to get your foot into the "tune" world or you just want to smoke the Z3 3.0 (like I did) then this is the car for you....read morehide

The weight of the car with its 1.8 liter is a pleasing combination. To summerize this is a very practical car that's fun to drive.

Bought the car brand new in 2002,3 years later and 62K miles I need a brand new engine for $5K.
Nissan doesn't want to cover it (even that the engine had head gasket replaced 3K miles ago),dealership doesn't care.
Engine is know as self destructive,do to the design flaw you will (yes it's only a matter of time) either get a piece of catalic converter sucked back into the engine or intake manifold screw will fall into your cylinder.
Nissan is aware of the problem but doesn't do enough to satisfy existing customers.
Remember stay away from the QR25 (2.5L) engine,it doesn't matter if it's Altima or Sentra....read morehide

I purchased my 2005 Sentra 1.8s (with only 14 miles) a year ago. I have only driven 7,530 miles in the past year (which is below the National average). I chose to purchase another Nissan Sentra due to my having such a wonderful experience with my last (1992 Sentra). Mind you, I purchased the 1992 as a used vehicle with little less than 14,000 miles and drove it to over 172,000 (had the car for twelve years).
I am so amazingly disgusted and dissapointed at this point with the 2005 Sentra 1.8s!!! During the summer months the AC barely cooled my car. It was cooler outside in the 90 degree weather than in my 110 degree car with the AC. --- 3 weeks before my one year anniversary with the car, my "CHECK ENGINE SOON" light appeared. --- And as with MPG? By far the worst ever, for six days ago I filled my car up completely and here I have driven ONLY 132 miles and I am now on empty!!!!! My calculations show 11mpg!!! What in the world is going on here (there is no leakage of gas)!??? I have taken the car in twice for service and they still haven't found out what's going on! My only saving grace is that the car is still under warranty (36 months or 36,000 miles), and I am only at month 12 and as mentioned 7,530 miles. I will continue to take the car in until they fix the problem or give me a new car! How in the world can one purchase a lemon of a car NEW?! OY!
I know this appears to be an awful rant, and for that I apologize. But, I am so frustrated at this point and again dissapointed for I have always been a Nissan supporter and have bragged to others. I don't know went wrong here!...read morehide
