Overall, a great value w/ current GM discount vs. other suvs considered; VW Toreg, Acura MDX and L3. It's sure a lot of fun to have all that hp and torque in this mid-size vehicle. Despite what I have seen written, I find the trim level, interior finish and workmanship up to SAAB standards - it definetely is not an "Envoy with Saab badging". Over time, I think it will prove to be an excellent choice....read morehide

This car rides great, smooth/quiet. Loaded to the max. Some say it is over priced, but compare to the BMW/Volvo/Acura, it is well worth its value! I have driven all of them and the SAAB is more luxurious and handles much better. With the GM discount you could be in one for less just over 34K, approx. 20k less than an equipped BMW....read morehide

OK, so I bought one. I am the first owner of a 97x in the DC market, according to my dealer. We replaced an Isuzu Axiom that has been nothing but a disappointment. This is the fifth Saab that my wife and I have owned. The ride of this verhicle is amazing. Very smooth, very solid, very quiet. I6 engine provides plenty of power. There are lots of styling cues that feel "Saabish" but there are also others that feel woefully "GMish". The controls for the environmentals and the sound system all have that GM feel to them that screams, "We can save a few pennies here by making that plastic a litlle bit thinner!" And the font of the radio display is just stupid. There are however a number of neat features - rear seat entertainment system is great, XM radio is nice, full size spare, air compressor in the back, and tons of driver customizable options such as curb mirror views when in reverse, easy exit seat and many different configurations for lights, etc. The towing specs are good at 5500 lbs and the hitch is integrated very nicely. Great looking roof rack. Overall, the exterior styling is very nice. I am happy with the car and with the GM employee discount, it is a great value. I paid just over $34,000 with an invoice of near $39,000. It may be based on the TrailBlazer/Envoy/Bravada/Ranier, but it looks (in my opinion) a billion times better than all of those and feels much more substantial than the Envoy and TrailBlazer that I have driven....read morehide

This is one of the best Saabs I have ever owned! I enjoy the V8 power and the great torque this car has. The interior is incredibly well built, and better than that of the Volvo I almost bought. The Bose audio system is great, and I enjoy having the numerous satellite radio stations. The seats are also incredibly comfortable on long trips. I have never owned such an impressive SUV and for the price, it's a crime to pass it up....read morehide

Anybody who thinks this is just a warmed over Chevy is wrong. It drives. looks, feels, and acts completely different. The interior is much quieter and better constructed, and the suspension and handling are greatly improved. The Saab is a better buy than a comparably equipped Buick Rainier or GMC Envoy Denali, and it's definetely a decent competitor to other premium midsize SUVs. Anyone skeptical should really take a look for themselves....read morehide

Being a huge Saab fan, I have to like this thing. It looks great, but it is just a Chevrolet TrailBlazer. I think that the Volvo XC-90 or Acura MDX could be a better choice simply because they are actual cars that nobody else makes but them. While the 9-7X just has a few upgrades than the Trailblazer or Envoy and has a base price of over $10,000 more. Another thing about this SUV that amuses me is that the advertisments say "...Sweden has some of the harshest winters, so the 9-7X comes with standard AWD, Blah Blah Blah." What is so funny about this is that the 97x is only available for the Untied States, and won't even be available in Sweden....read morehide
