Purchased As Used
I have owned a few cars and they have all gotten ok to bad gas mileage. I am pretty impressed with the Corolla "S" this is my first corolla and i believe that when it is ready to be traded in which will be a LONG time i will get another one. I have previously owned 2 subarus and honestly feel safer in the corolla. My only 2 complaints about this car is that you have to turn the radio up to 18 to hear anything and after 70 to 75 mph it starts making a whistling noise. I would recommend this car to anyone!!!!!...read morehide

With today's $2.50 per gallon gas this car keeps a little fun in road trips. I routinely get over 40 MPG (best 43 MPG for a tank) on the highway - see how you Hybrid owning friends react to that statement! I paid $13,400 OTD and so far it's not cost me one cent beyond oil changes. Toyota sure knows how to build them - in 6000 miles the oil level does not drop at all.
It will haul four normal sized adults and their gear with ease, there's plently of power if you wind the engine out a little. Mine does not have much in the way of options and I do miss power door locks and cruise control. It doesn't have the sporty feel of my 94 Civic EX but, none-the-less, the Corolla engine is at least the equal of the Honda V-tec, and the high seat position and great view grow on you.
The only niggles I have are a couple of minor dashboard vibrations, I have not had it into Toyota yet but I'm sure they can eliminate them. The Goodyear OEM tires seem like, well, like OEM tires, noisy and wear fast. Really long trips are not this car's forte - if you do a lot of 8 hour plus days you might want a Camry....read morehide

I inherited this car from a family member, (with 7,000 miles). Im from a G.M. family and have had this car for 2 days now. Toyota has traditionaly made a great product, but they are slipping in all models and definately in the Corolla. I would never pay as much as I did for this vehilce again. I would definately get another maker such as KIA or HYUNDAI, those are worth the money and they offer a better warranty.

I just purchased a 2005 Corolla XRS. THis is by far the fastestest factory 4 cylinder car I have ever owned. The features are incredible. It possesses a 6 disc cd, moonroof, spoiler/bodykit, power windows, side and curtain airbags, and ABS brakes. The engine is a riot!!! Once you get above 4,000 RMP the car just rockets forward. The shifter is smooth and short. Give this car a chance. She will not let you down!...read morehide

I honestly love this car. I have a 2003 CE, and its great on gas milage. I live about 30-40 miles from my work, and I can make it back and forth for a whole week on less than a tank of gas. It has great sound, for music lovers. Great handling on tight turns, and its a peppy little car, for only being a 4 cylender engine. I did notice on the express way, it can be a bit noisey and it kinda blows off the road in heavy winds, but other than that I think its an awesome car for the money I paid. PLUS! I havent had any problems with it since, and I've been a proud owner for 3 years!...read morehide

I really LOVED the car. I was happy to own a toyota. Until the car just QUIT. Car turns over but will not start at all when this happens. There are known problems with 2005 and 2006 Corolla Fuel Pumps and P.C.M. I had my car towed to Toyota Garage where I bought it, they replaced the P.C.M.-it is covered under warranty till 80,000 miles. When P.C.M. went, it killed the FUEL PUMP.Even so, Fuel Pump NOT covered under warranty after 36,000. Toyota replaced the fuel pump-total charge, $1,200...(no typo)-if you buy 2005 or 2006 Corolla take it from someone who learned the hard way-you better buy extra coverage for that fuel pump......read morehide

My 2005 Corolla has problems with the window (sounds like it's going to break), windowwiper motor and the car does not alway turn over right away or on the first try (which seems to be a common problem with the 2005). I am quite disappointed in the quality so far. I only have 10,600 miles. Toyota quality sure has changed....read morehide

I traded my 2001 Lexus ES300 even Steven for a 2006 LE with 5-speed tranny. I know, some might think this was stupid. As a "traveling salesman," the mileage of the Lexus was breaking me. Anyway, this is a great car except for the wind buffeting on the interstate. The car has no straight-ahead stability when there is even a slight crosswind. It takes constant steering correction and this is tiring on trips over 30 minutes. I'm 5"10" and if I get the seat far enough back so as not to cramp my clutch foot, the steering wheel is about 2" too far away for a comfortable grip. These are minor annoyances that detract from an otherwise great car....read morehide
