This is one of the best overall cars on the road today for the money.

love my Passat diesel wagon-best thing since sliced bread. I used to drive a SUV and this is way better. Not at par with my roadster but as close a second as any car can be.

We have a 2003 GLS wagon. The biggest prblem is being unable to open the rear liftgate. We have taken it to our local VW dealer at least five times and they still cannot determine the cause. It is very frustrating to be out in the cold or rainy weather trying to load your groceries or unload them for that matter. If VW has the ability and motivation to fix this one and for all then I cannot say a bad word about the car....read morehide

I have had this car for about 4 years and after the 2 year warranty was over my car has cost me about $1,000 every year. I'm finally getting
rid of it.

I bought my volkswagen used for a great value. The safety features, gas mileage, and handling are impecable, but they were also an after thought in the process of buying the car. What really makes this car such a great buy is it's appearance. In a society where the mato seems to be,"You never get a second chance to make a first impression," this car makes one to be remember. With it's smooth lines and luxurious features it screams "I'm successful," and isn't that what we all want to be! So if you want a car whose appearance and mechanics are going to be around for a long time to come, than this car is for you....read morehide

I drive 3-4k a mo. I have 5k on my 05 GLS wagon and its working out very well. You have to watch out for torque steer which can occure at any time but its easy to recover and kinda fun I would recomend this car and the wagon is realy a wagon made to haul and stuff with everythin one needs for long road trips. Good job VW you have me back as a customer (Again)...read morehide

Love it - would recommend and would buy again! Diesel is a great fuel in this current high gas price world!

I haven't had this car long enough to have any major problems, so let's say the jury is still out. But I have noted no issues with fit, finish or mechanical. That said, my fuel economy to date is excellent (low 30's combined local streets and highway while still in break in mode). I must say that the A/C cools this car down wonderfully even at our current 110 temps in Phoenix -- every bit as well as my 2003 Honda Pilot did, although I would like rear seat ducts. I chose this vehicle over a Hybrid for a variety of reasons, like never having to replace a horrendously expensive battery pack, a price that isn't outrageoulsy above the price of a conventional gasoline vehicle, excellent fuel economy and diesel technology that has been here and will remain for decades. Acceleration is definitely adequate to my tastes, but I am no floor it and go driver. It is intersting to see the automatic MPG sensor read over 40 MPG when cruising at 75 MPH on the freeway. I am still adjusting to the "low rider" feel of this vehicle after years of SUV driving. I sit lower than my girlfriend's Camry and that will take some getting used to, but it is comfortable. The vehilce is also pretty quiet, a big plus for me. I think my evaluation of vehicle appearance is partly driven by how low the vehicle sits....read morehide
