gas mile needs improve

I had my 06 RL A-Spec for almost 1 yr already. had 21000miles since new. All I can say is this car blow all same level cars out of water! Very sporty with A-Spec pkg. I am a hardcore driver so I paid $6000 for even more sporty, but it is worth it! The suspension is truly amazing, body kit fits the car perfectly without going crazy looking. I tried both BMW 530 Sport and Benz E350, they have nothing to compare with RL, maybe only the brand name.......read morehide

Love this car!! I also own the TLS type. Both cars are wonderful but the TL is much sportier and the RL is complete luxury. My husband told me to go pick out any car I wanted and I teset drove them all. This car by far outranked all of them for the money!!

Could use more H.P., Torque and rear seat legroom

Me and my wife bought a 2005 TL and RL at the same time. I like the TL for the quickness, buit the RL owns everything else. To date I have put 56000 miles on the car and enjoyed every mile of it. 5 Seris, E Class and GS cannot touch this car, features that are costly options on the latter are standard on this Acura flagship and the M.S.R.P is still 6 to 10k below the competitor's. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about the service people at Acura dealerships, my RL have seen one's in Florida, Texas and california and the service was top rate. My wife recently traded her TL in for a 2007 CLK550 cabrio and I was about to trade the RL in on a 2007 CLS550 but I decided to wait and see what the next generation RL would be like...I think I made the right decision...read morehide

little noisy compared to Lexus LS460

This is by far the best value for the money. I test drove Lexus, Infinity, BMW, Mercedes, and Audi. The only cars that are certainly better than RL are Lexus LS 460, BMW 750, and Audi A8. But they cost almost double the RL!! If you are looking for an excellent deal for a luxury car, this is it. The Bose sound system is very impressive. The SH-AWD is also very nice. And the voice activated navigation, sound system, temperature, and hands free blue tooth is very handy and good. The only option missing is cool air seats. But for the money, I can live without them....read morehide

A good driving car with good fuel economy, GPS and other options on most cars standard on the RL

Needs more rear leg room

Have owned the car for four weeks and like it better each time I drive it. It is a very solid car that handles very well. Has plenty of power. Fuel milage on 1700 mile trip was 26.3 miles per gallon that included in town driving and 80 MPH interstate driving. We were not as tired after the trip as we were on a shorter tirp in the 03 TL we owned. I have owned an Accord and this car is a long way from being an Accord. I just bought my RL a month ago and just think it's great I can't understand some of the negitive feedback... I haven't had a bit of trouble. M y dealership been super with everthing and answered all my questions about the car. I paid extra and got the back up camera and was glad I did, it help's parking a lot. I was going to wait for the 07's but I found out they quit the On Star program and I really wanted that. That;s another great thing, You get a year's worth of On Star and XM- Radio free for the 1st year. It's full of techno. stuff and if you get your book out it's not hard to figure it out if you just take some time with it. I traded my 99' TL in on this and I loved my TL as well, but drive and the handling of this car is far superior. The SH-All wheel drive has everthing beat, the way it corners at hight speed is a marvel. I can only speak for my self but Honda Corp. has all the Competiton beat. Drive On!...read morehide

Owned BMW's for over 10 years and loved the cars but got tired of repair costs. Although it doesn't have the "name", this car is a great alternative. Compare it to the M35 or 530i with similar equipment and it is an incredible value based on discounts available on it. I traded up from my 05 Acura TL Navi. The TL was very impressive, but firmer riding than my daily driver needs require. Also the TL assembly was a bit questionable with rattles and interior materials.

Then I looked at the RL. The RL is perfect for my tastes. Luxury features, sophisticated / understated styling, exemplary build quality, tons of impressive technology that works, sweet Honda engine with Ultra Low Emissions and reasonable economy for a powerful, fast heavy sedan. Honda is about balance and value, the RL is exactly that at the low $40K prices being offered on the RL. The SHAWD is seamless and instills confidence with driving spirited. I like the size, feels substantial but not too large and not a float boat. The RL offers a very refined ride, but just the right amount of sport to make driving entertaining.

My mixed driving averages 23-24 mpg / tank but highway mileage hits 30mpg. Impressive considering the abundant power and clean burning engine. Most V-8 flagships may have more torque, with similar HP, but cannot produce that mileage and be clean burning.

It surprises me the RL does not sell more. But I also confess I did consider it when I bought my TL. If I had driven the RL, I would have bought the RL over the TL....read morehide

Current price of 2006 is 40,200 or so...amazing buy. Aspec susp/tires make is have BMW equal feel.

Mileage if paddles used=16 to 19..but it is fast! iPod software interface horrid.

Only beef is the Honda/Acura iPod interface. It is amazing that they have a big screen, a round knob, and don't use it to good effect. They need to hire a hacker for 2 weeks to fix that. Otherwise, I like it more than my recent Audi A6 and S4 and it feels at least as good as a new E350 4matic or 530xi. If they added a turbo...watch out S6!

Best buy by 10-15k......if you care about money, this is the car.


Amazing paint job too.


Stereo is superb. Sublime and not tinny like most Bose systems.

Seating is comfortable.

Dash is a little busy, but you get used to it.

Only feature of my Audi I miss: auto wipers....read morehide
