i dont have an 06 i have a 04 type s and its the best car i have ever had!! i upgraded mine its got around 230 hp put cold air intake in header exhaust sport clutch tweaked engine a lil bit a mesh grill in the front looks nice and its really fast and loud everyone loves my car they always wanna be in it i love the way it takes cuves i call it my rice rocket i do about 0-60 in some 5 seconds maybe less who knows its really fast i love this car...read morehide

I got my car last June ..I love it ..its bang for the buck ..this is not the car for you though if you want low end torque..Its very good at high end tho . Once your in at 5k ..you'll feel the rush .. very good to have top end power if you go to the track . This car handles superbly . The interior is very nice . Alot of people complain about the Bose system not being good enough , but in my opinion , I think its a very good system . I play hip hop all the time in my car and its fine for me . I get enough treble and bass out of it , sometimes even too much . Only drawbacks i can think are that you have to use preminium , no option for a navi , and no hid's , but other than that i love my car , especially on the freeway , it sure does pull...read morehide

I purchased my RSX Type-S in June 2006. I'm satisfied with the car to this point. There's only two issues I have. One, from a standing start the car is sluggish, it doesn't move until it reaches 3000 rpm. Once it reaches 3000 rpm, that's where the car really shines. There is a definite difference. Second, when shifting into 3rd gear sometimes it doesn't want to go in. I had the same issue with an '02 Civic EX. I would recommend this car to someone who doesn't care about gas mileage (premium is recommended and I've averaged between 18 and 19 mpg, of course that may increase if I drove it more sensibly) and is looking for an enjoyable ride to and from work (I've a 45 min ride to work, so this car is enjoyable for me to drive back and forth). It's sad that Acura dropped this car. I think if they improved some features (engine, sat. radio, etc.) that it could have been re-intorduced....read morehide

The car does its job, but at too high of a price. For the money you could get a wrx, mazdaspeed3, srt4 even a mustang gt that will all out perform the rsx-s in one aspect or another of performance. Overall the car does decent across the board but it really lacks so much low end tq that I am selling mine. It drives me nuts to rev it to 8k on every freeway onramp to get to speed. The interior is one of my favorites because it is so simple unlike a lot of new cars. Probably a good thing though Honda has killed the DC5's, it is so far behind the other imports and tuner cars out there that it is not even funny. It is really a throwback in terms of tuner cars, taking an overall effort from the owner to get it to compete, but it is a very driver friendly car, I will give it that. I will miss it i am sure, but i do regret buying it and not getting a wrx or mazda speed 3. Honda is missing a turbo in their tuner cars with the new SI. It can't compete against anyone but its motor-mates the rsx and itself. Sad but true, Honda has fallen behind the rest....read morehide

6-spd MT, a bit loud in cockpit, seems like it should handle better

This was to be my pride and joy car and one of the reasons I bought it (besides the style and HP) was a dependable reputation of Acura. So, the HP is adequate (you can surprise a few people), I like the interior a lot (but a 24-oz drink bumps against the dash in the holder and getting blond hair out of the holes in the leather seats is irritating). Not sure why Acura skimped on an inside hatch release.

I agree with other comments about driving in the rain (car is fairly quick to hydroplane).

While I still like the car very much, I'm looking into gettting rid of it after only a year and a half ownership. It has had to have a factory defect fixed in the front strut area (there is an Acura service bulletin on it), the rear hatch lever works, and then don't work, and then works, and the rear washer doesn't spray cleaner (it just makes a noise). However, the worst problem is the transmission. It grabs in 2nd and 3rd gear (notches). Speed shifting is pretty much out of the question. And to top it off, my dealership, Baranco Acura, has provided poor service and, in several cases, damaged the car while in their posession...by far the worst service experience I've had....read morehide
