Bought a 2006 A8L. This car is made to drive above 80. It is rock solid. The transmission shifts too early to save gas. I suggest leaving it in Sport mode around town. There is a little too much wind noise for this level of car but tolerable if you are moiving up from anything else. Also could use the bump in horsepower that the 07 models recieve. This is my first Audi and all I can say its the best sedan ever , I had a MB (s 500) but Audi's quattro bits it . We just had a snow in new york and no Mb S class could do what i did with my Audi

I've owned my A8L for four months, and it's by far the best car I've ever driven. The roominess was my first reason to look; the way it made me feel was the clincher. The sport setting on the air suspension and the transmission delivers strong performance - mine will do 0-60 in 6 seconds. Drove halfway across the country and back, and got more than 26 mpg the whole trip, traveling 80mph much of the time. Bose sound is outstanding. Seat heaters / coolers / massagers are effective. This car is amazing on and off-road. The Quattro that Audi has devised makes it a unique car in all ways. The technology and the top-grade interior features makes the inside the best. Exterior the big dual exhausts gives this car an aggressive soundtrack. I'd recommend this car over the Bentley Continental Flying Spur!!! Poor resale value after first year. Loose $30K+ from sticker on trade in. Seat ventilation needs to be stronger. Some seat discomfort on long rides even with massage option. Need to automate headrests for better visibility; need to allow fresh air option without airconditioning being on. Water wets and streaks the inside of side windows when lowered and raised after car wash. Awkward control for right side view mirror lowering for ground visibility-should be more automatic when in reverse. Annoying alarms for lights and seatbelts. Seatbelt alarm should only sound when out of PARK, not just when engine is ON. Same alarm sounds for lights, no parking break, and seatbelt. I use to have BMW 7-ser., Mercedes S-class(s500).This is my first AUDI A8L,and if you compare prices and standard options that three of those rivals offer,this car will be your choice # 1!!! And not only because of that.Audi A8 is exellent and really ultimate driving machine.At some points even better than Mercedes and BMW. I have taken this car out for a test drive and I was shocked at its performance. This car has awesome handling the interior is outstanding and I can't believe how quiet this car really is I can't even hear the engine idle. This car gives a very smooth ride the features is amazing inside the car. I have driven the BMW 7 series, Jaguar XJ8,Lexus LS 430,Mercedes Benz S Class and the Volkswagen Phaeton. Their was no comparison the Audi A8L W12 blows those cars away in thin air I especially would recommand everybody to test the 2006 Audi A8L W12 it is amazing ladies and gentleman. If I had the chance to rate this car from 1/10 in my opinion I would give this car a perfect 10/10 because I'm very inpress with everything about the car appearance,comfort,performance,value and overall satisfaction. I could never afford one...

My friend has an Audi A8L, he took me out for a spin, I sat in the back. It has a wine cooler! The cabin is better then a Rolls Royce or Maybach, seriously! His ended up costing about $100,000. That's 2 times more than my Acura! If I was the richest person on earth, that would be the first car on my mind....read morehide
