Great drivers car, just not use to some of the harshness of ride and wind noise, The sunroof is very noisy with sunshade is opened, the transimission does not know which gear to be in when going up steep hills at low speeds, will change with a very loud grinding sound, BMW service center was not able to fix said it was a software issue that BMW is aware of, but the software update to fix problem is 2 to 3 updates away. With only 15,000 miles on the car, the insturment panel went out and had to have all new dash installed to fix problem. BMW customer service is way behind, I have a Lexus and no matter what when I bring it in for service I'm given another Lexus to drive, BMW told me unless I bought the car from that dealer, no loaner, and my car was in for service for a week. Come very close to trading car in for another Lexus because of that. Over all the car is very nice, comfortable, easy to drive and great looking, the 06 facelift help so much over the 02 to 05 models. Onl current problem with car is now that gas prices are up to $3.40, it now takes $75 to $80 to fill-up every 2 to 3 days....read morehide

I have had two serious electronic recalls which require software downloads to remedy low speed dieseling and exhaust vibration and another which has yet to been done to address extremely erratic startup idle. The vehicle shakes uncomfortably for 20-30 seconds before it settles down. For those considering using dealerships in the Las Vegas Area for service maintainence and warranty service.... I would take pause. For my first 10,000 mile service I needed to get a service appointment through USA customer relations. The local dealership was not very responsive. When you pay $85,000 for a vehicle I guess one would expect an attentive dealer for satisfaction and public relations. Next stop is trouble free Lexus....read morehide

This is much better luxury performance sedan compared to the S550 (worse gas consumption, and not sure if its tire wear problem still existing) and the LS460 ( Its handling and the worst braking distance in this class).

This is my 4th BMW (3rd 7 series) and it is terrific. Best car I've ever had, including my previous BMWs, MB and a host of others. The car is very responsive, handles beautiflly, is very comfortable and I think very good looking. Despite the rhetoric of some, I believe that the I-drive system is a must. Can you imagine how complicated the dash would be if there were buttons to control the myriad of controls on this car? It would be a mess and surely one would have difficulty remembering what all the controls were for. The I-drive splendidly orgainizes controls into 8 sets of functions, such as entertainment, communication, car specific details and so forth. Once entering one of them, one easily moves to which subset they are interested in changing. Granted, it does take a little time to learn, but if you can't learn this feature within a couple of weeks, perhaps you shouldn't be driving at all. The BMW engineers ought to be congratulated on this feature. Best of all, you don't have to use it if you don't want to....read morehide

Just turned 15,000mi with only one incident that was related to inept dealer service. "I" drive does not live up to the complexity you read about but could still has too many steps in nav and entertainment functions.
Performance luxuary ride without feeling like your driving a sofa. Acceleration in "S" mode will easily leave most behind.

I have had a 2006 750Li since April 2006 and after 8 months, 4600 miles, it has now spent 5 days in the dealer's service. Poor quality as the car was recalled for a suspension problem and when brought to the dealer for repair, they didn't have the part (knowing it was coming for this service). Took the dealership 6 weeks to get the part and schedule a return visit. Had to bring it back, another day without my new ride.
When the car was returned after 2nd service, the front driver's door would not stay cloesed. After about one hour, the door finally closed and worked properly. I took this as a temporary glitch. 30 days later, the same problem re-appeared and I was forced to hold the driver's door closed with one hand while I drove the car home. Next day the problem disappeared again and I brought the car back to the dealer. I was told they couldn't find the problem and I should take the car home. Are they kidding? Escalated to Service Mgr and the vehicle is still at the dealer. For this kind of money, the Germans must be kidding. Next car will be a Lincoln. I can have a new one every year and not have half the problems this one has generated in 8 months.
Think Twice Before Paying for a car like this. Think American or Japanese. You'll save a lot of grief....read morehide

I owned Mercedes, Porches and last a BMW. The 750il is the best car I have ever owned. The handling is superb, comfort and the unnessesary cluttering of the instrumention, make the 750il easy to use and a pleasure to drive. My wife owns a Audi 8L, great car but the Idrive on the BMW makes a giant difference.
The only problem is in the winter you must have snow tires or leave the car in the garage when it snows. If the 750IL had the option of all wheel drive, then it would be difficult to consider any other luxury sedan....read morehide
