Great handling, great stereo, good acceleration

Brakes sometimes feel a bit soft, lots of brake dust on front tires

Overall, this is a great vehicle. I bought a 2006 3.6L in August and the only problem I've had was a dead battery. Great service to get this fixed - we called the roadside assistance number and the tow truck was in our driveway within about 30 minutes. The guy quickly replaced the battery and was on his way (at no cost to us) in about another 30 minutes. Other than that one incident, I've had no problems with this car. Since it does not have a turbo charger, it is understandably not as fast off the line as my Saab 9-3 was; but once you get going, the torque and acceleration are great. The Bose stereo is AWESOME - turn it up as loud as you want, with virtually no distortion. I bought this car because I needed to step up a bit in vehicle size from my Saab 9-3 - which I LOVED, and had no problems with, but the back seat was just too small with a growing kid sitting back there. We tested a BMW 525i, Cadillac CTS, Lexus GS300, and Volvo S80 and ended up getting the BMW.

The second choice was the Cadillac since we have a GM Card, but we weren't too crazy about it. The things that I did like was that it's quick from a stop, which is a major plus. The styling is very nice, yet I think there are a few too many sharp lines.

I had many more cons with this vehicle than pros. First of all, the rear seat was very cramped. CHILDREN ONLY! Secondly, the leather felt very cheap and somewhat dated look. Third, the front controls on the center dashboard are tilted towards the driver so it isn't that easy for the passenger to access them. Last, and worst part of all is the high amount of body lean. In order to check the handeling on the test drive, we drove around a sharp corner going about 30 MPH. It literally felt as if the vehicle was going to flip over due to the extremely high amount of body lean.

Overall, I would have liked this vehicle much more if there were more standard features, a larger rear seat, more upscale leather, etc....read morehide

I love my car, however I recently noticed when passing other cars that I could use a little more power to feel safe. I test drove a 2006 3.6l and when I bought this 2007 I was told it had the same engine as the car I had test driven. My mistake, I bought this car off the dealership floor believing it had same engine, when in reality it was a 2.8l. Don't get me wrong it is a nice car with adeqate pick up, just would have purchased the 3.6 l had I known....read morehide

THE RIDE HAS BEEN BUMPY I HAD TO HAVE 4 NEW TIRES PUT ON FROM JUNE 2006 TO DEC 2006.

I thought when you get a CADILLIC it was suppose to be smooth sailing as far as your ride (not true) I have nothing but frustration. I brought my car in June 2006 and have had nothing but problems. I had a oil sealant to leak, noise in the tires I have been to the dealer 5 times that is not good. This car is the worst. I don't recommend this to anyone....read morehide

I bought my new 2006 CTS in Dec 05 and I absolutely love it! It is sporty with black exterior, black interior and moon roof and it is so much fun to drive! I looked at a lot of cars before buying and they all looked so similar. I saw a CTS like mine and instantly knew that was the car I wanted. I had to go out of state to find it, but I got a fantastic deal on it which made the price comparable to a loaded Honda Accord! I get almost 20 mpg back and forth to work and have not had a minute's trouble with it. I would strongly recommend it to others, especially career women. It's just the right size for handling with ease, yet it has all the safety features I was looking for. It is a luxury car at an affordable price!...read morehide

Excellent value for the money. CTS must have 17" wheels or bigger for appearances. Sport package & 3.6L highly recommended. This is the next best car to the BMW 330i.

I have own this vehicle for about 6 months and I have had no problems. I went cheap and settled for the 2.8L but I convinced my rich brother in-law to purchase the CTS-V (now that's power) so I get to drive it on rare occasions. I regret not getting the 3.6L...ohh well. I really like the fact that Cadillac did their homework when they designed this vehicle because I was really tired of driving foreign cars for the past 12 years just for their reliability....read morehide

Tight front compartment; not sufficient storage space

Car handles well, a little crowded in the drivers compartment for larger adults; ride although a little rough is solid. The large six cylinder is a minimum; smaller one is too small for acceptable performance.

Hands down the best car I'ved owned. 3.6 V6 is fast, 0-60 in 6.6 (ok), but 60-120, in a blink of an eye, PRICELESS. The rev limiter stopped me at 128 mph, but she'd go to 150 if I could turn it off. Handles better the faster you go. Already toasted a WRX turbo, 300C hemi, 1999 Mustang, the look on their faces when they get blown away by a Caddy. By the way Black on Black is the way to go. I've owned cars with a lot more horse power, but this is more fun to drive and bring my wife to dinner in. Buy one if you can afford it....read morehide
