Ever since i was a child i dreamed of owning a supercar such as a ferrari or lamborghini. Of course i cant afford a million dollar car so i test drove the vette. It was the best car i had ever driven. Its way better than my friends hard driving mercedes or my couisns XLR. I am gettin almost thirty miles per hour on the highway. OK i admit it, i got pulled over for speeding once. it was definitly worth it. I Love My Vette!...read morehide

My C6 is a phenomenal l car. There is nothing I would change except the key less entry: I miss a key. Greater chance of locking your self out.
The exhaust and engine tones, the rush of acceleration, the handling are exhilarating and world class.
The ride is not rough, in my opinion; it is a sports car.
The car is tight and rattle free.
The gas millage is wonderful; I get 18-20mpg around town and on trips I can get 30mpg at 70mph (~1500rpm).
I have friends who have (collect) Ferrari, Porsches and Mercedes who say this is car is the best bang for the buck in the world. My experience bears that out....read morehide

wish chev' would do a little more retro-style. it just does not get the looks other sport cars get.

The only reason a person would buy another Performance car would be brand or snob preference. My second Vette (79 and 2006). Words cannot describe the performance, the sound, the handling, the engineering etc. A dream car

I've wanted to buy a Corvette when I first started working at the age of eithteen, but my Mom said no. I waited 35 years and finally I purchased my CO6 Convertible and I'm very Pleased with it . I can't wait until the spring to take it out of storage and put it on the highway. It drives GREAT. very Woman that can afford one should have one ,at lease ONCE....read morehide

Got a manual Z51 w/ all the bells and whistles. Very comfortable ride though much stiffer with the Z51 package than standard suspension but that's what I wanted...a true sports car feel. I drove the standard suspension with automatic transmission and it was nice, and fast, but just lacked the thrill I was looking for...it felt too cushy. However, if I was going drive a corvette every day, especially in traffic, this is definetly the package I would have opted for. I chose the coupe because it fits more luggage (22 cu. ft.) for those weekend get-a-ways with my wife and she liked the looks of the coupe better than the convertible. From my perspective, the cargo "hatch" on the convertible seemed destined for paint nicks, especially with loading and unloading golf clubs all the time, so my wife's preference for the coupe won out...and saved some money at the same time! Speaking of money, if I had more, I would have opted for the Z06 but no way was I going to pay the dealer an extra $15K or more for the honor of buying a Z06 from them. I love my C6 corvette! It's fast, handles well, has ample room and comfort, looks great, and definetly makes a statement. Buy one and you won't be sorry! In the Bay Area, visit FH Daley in San Leandro...those guys are great!...read morehide

I've had this 2006 c6 for 14 months, (18000+ miles in the first year) 6 speed manual(wouldn't have a automatic in a sports car). I do very little 'in town' driving. I have gotten as much as 31.4 mpg on a 400 mile run, a lot of open roads in the high plains. Probably average 26.5 to 28.2 on highway. It still will get 24 to 26 on mountain roads. The harder you push it, passing etc. the fuel economy goes down, of course. Speaking of mountain roads, the G meter is the coolest thing. Have pulled up to .82 g's with no slip, sway, no problems. I'm sure I could go a bit higher, but.... Great acceleration for passing etc. very conveinient for 2 lane roads. Have driven 500 to 700 miles, with a few short stops, a number of times and felt great a the end of the trip. Has a little road noise, mostly on a chipped road suface or patched black top. Only other complaint, I CAN'T DRIVE IT WHEN THE SNOW GETS ABOVE MY ANKLE! well ok that's not chevy's fault....read morehide

GM did a great job luring customers to the redesigned C-6 Corvette and on paper it is a winner. World class performance for a reasonable price. It was easy to overlook some of the interior quality cost cutting which seemed l a small price to pay for the excitment of driving this stunning car. Unfortunately for me, my Corvette new car purchase has been more than disappointing. Quality control, design issues and negligent dealers have been a nightmare. In sum, I have owned my car for approximately 12 months and the car has been in the shop undergoing waranty service for 5 weeks during this time period. Cost cutting design flaws caused me to have had three rear axiles. I had another incident with the rear differential. Another trip in for active steering problems. The dealer sold me the car without fixing a previous recall issue and the power steering hose broke and I lost steering capability. I also was delivered the new vehicle with a short in the On-Star system and the built in cellular phone. Wouldn't you think the dealer would have made sure the car was in working condition and the recall item was fixed before delivery. Oh, I almost forgot, the continued alignment problems which will obviously require I spend over $2,000 purchasing new tires early and likely multiple times. It is clear why GM is having issues and the Japanese are taking market share. Sure 400 horse in a 3200 lb. car with this exciting design is tempting, but it certainly is not worth a look especially when the car will depreciate by approximately $12,000 in less than a year and you are faced with Lemon Law litigiation prospects and the uncertainty of what will happen in the next 12 months of ownership. My tenure (7,500 miles worth) with this beautiful looking car has been a disaster. At this point, I would gladily give up some of the ponies and sex appeal for a reliable automobile....read morehide
