Purchased As Used
I purchased this impala with 6k miles on it. @ 6.3k air sensor in rr wheel failed. Two days after that was repaired the module that controls the tire pressure system failed. @ 7.5k RF wheel bearing and axle shaft failed. @10.5k miles car was taken to dealer for premature tire wear, dealer determined that the steering rack failed. Steering rack was covered under warranty, GM refused to replace front tires stated that the defective rack didn"t cause the front tires to prematurely wear out. My out of pocket cost $428.00. @ 11k miles the high pressure lines from the power steering pump to the new steering rack failed, towed back to dealer. @ 20k miles plastic molding pass. side front seat broke, replaced by dealer. @ 21k molding on pass. side broke again, dealer replaced again. @ 24k same molding broke, again replaced by dealer. @ 27k same molding broke again, again dealer replaced, and stated that GM will not replace molding under warranty again. The molding broke again shortly after the last repair, and is still broken today. When asked why not, was told it was deemed to be a poor design, so much for the bumper to bumper warranty. @ 31k miles remote starter failed, dealer replaced both remotes, the antenna and the module that controls the starting system. @ 31.5k the transmission cooling lines failed. @ 32.5k leaking antifreeze, coolant cap and housing failed. That"s it so far. The car now has 33.5k miles on hopefully all the bugs are gone HA HA, I don't think so. So much for that great GM feeling!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...read morehide

I love everything about the impala But was dissappointed when my LTZ didn't come equipped with the Bose radio as I expected. I thought that the LTZ model came with the Bose system standard.
I must say though , that the standard radio sounds very good.

I don't even know where to start. My LTZ drives and handles like a dream, PLENTY of power. The interior is absolutely beautiful and comfortable. The exterior styling is gorgeous, I didn't pay attention to where the people were from who said that the exterior styling was generic, but here in Ohio I have complete strangers telling me what a sharp car I am driving! But the thing I can't say enough about is the interior quality and comfort and the performance of this car!! I have the black leather interior and the silver exterior and I HIGHLY reccomend this combo. If you are thinking of buying a mid-size car, please do yourself a favor and test drive one of these first, you will NOT be disappointed!!! GM finally got it right I had an 03 Impala previously, and while I was very satisfied with it, it was just not in the league of the 06 LTZ. SPECTACULAR CAR!!!!...read morehide

Great car for the money, way more room and comfort than comparable foreign cars. Just try to buy a new honda, toyota, or subaru for that kind of coin.

I took this car for a test drive, and I have it narrowed down to three cars: Malibu Maxx, Saturn Aura, and the Impala. I also test drove an Accord, found the seats uncomfortable, and the Camry exterior is a snooze, but seems to handle well. I think I am leaning towards the Impala because it was so comfortable and a wonderful ride,, although I loved the Aura as well....read morehide

Traded my Honda Odyssey and my silverado crew cab, both late model, after trying the SS model. What a rocket! Settled on an avaiable LTZ in black, leather, with sunroof. Beats all of our past Honda Accords. l finally got the keys away from my wife today to drive it. Love it. No regrets.

Got my LTZ, about 4 months ago I was able to ORDER the car direct from factory. NO extra's on my LTZ, OREGON one does not need SUN ROOFs, or rear spoiler. Dealer was very conscious I wanted the LTZ with no extras and were great, some dealers refused to ORDER car from factory. Fit & finish is great, I have been asked many times about the LTZ and people were impressed with the car as I am.
Smooth riding, quick, and so far a great car.......read morehide

Great looking car that has all of the options one would want. Got 27.5 MPG on a trip to the Indy 500 with only 500 miles on the engine. Expect a little better economy as the engine breaks in. Drives like a dream down the highway. We really like this car so far.

Because the car tilts forward, the read underside can be seen. Imagine our shock to find our 2006 Impala with 1300 miles on it had a rusty exhaust system; not just a little rust, but all the components were very rusty.
The dealer suggested sanding and painting the affected parts, but decided to replace it, which they should have suggested in the first place.
Other than that, and the fact that you can't turn off both the outside and recirculation air buttons, as the manual indicates, this seems like a swell car....read morehide
