G.M. owner for 30 years. I will never buy another Chevrolet. G.M. had no idea how to fix this car. From the tire monitor system to everything electronic being run from a chip in the radio. If it could fail it did. Niether the dealer or Chevrolet would stand behind this car. Worst vehicle I have ever owned....read morehide

Car looks and drives great. However, braking in this car is vary poor in wet or slick conditions. Car is has a Major problem with the anti-lock breaks. Also, remote start doesn't work unless you are right up on car and tire monitoring system has all kinds of problems (Car has been in 7 times and GM can not fix the problem). GM customer is un-welling to fix the problem....read morehide

I have had this car for 3 months and have been to Vancouver,B.C twice and its a great car on the highway. This car is like a cruise missle it just wants to run I have two speeding tickets because I didn't use the cruise control because this car is so easy to speed in. Had one ticket for 152 km hr (94 miles hr). Also this car is comfortable for long highway trips . Way to go GM on building a great car...read morehide

Nothing but good things to say about this vehicle. Plenty of interior room and ride comfort to satisfy my families needs, and plenty of horsepower to satisfy mine!! It's true they recommend 91 octane, but the following came out of the owners manual:
"If your vehicle has the 5.3L V8 engine (VIN Code C), use premium unleaded gasoline with a posted octane rating of 91 or higher. You can also use regular unleaded gasoline rated at 87 octane or higher, but your vehicle's acceleration could be slightly reduced, and you might notice a slight audible knocking noise, commonly referred to as spark knock. If the octane is less than 87, you might notice a heavy knocking noise when you drive. If this occurs, use a gasoline rated at 87 octane or higher as soon as possible. Otherwise, you could damage the engine. If you are using gasoline rated at 87 octane or higher and you hear heavy knocking, the engine needs service."
Believe me, I do not notice the slightly reduced acceleration!! For the money, this vehicle offers alot of bang for the buck!!...read morehide

I've had my Impala SS for over six months. In that time I've had it at the dealership on three different occasions for problems steming from the factory. Number one was a factory recall. Second, the tire pressure monitor gauge went out. Third, it won't start. My 2006 Impala SS with only 12k was at the dealership for three days strait for them to tell me it was something in the electrical system that makes it not want to start. I took it home Friday night, Saturday morning it woudn't start. The dealer had it towed back Monday morning. For the money I could have bought a low end BMW that most likely would have started for the next ten years with no problems. I recommend you NOT buy this car....read morehide

Just recently purchessed with only 5000 Klm.
I'm making my fourth trip to the dealer to rid a vibration problem, the first time I got some guff about high performance tires act that way but after consulting with GoodYear I was told first that the spec tire inflation was to low for the Eagles. It did help some to increase to 38 PSI. The second trip involved forced tire balancing, didnt do anything for it. The third trip the dealer replaced all four tires, which cured the humping at 40 KPH, but still at 75 to 160 KPH the car shudders with an up down sensation. I got to a point to say that if a Cadi owner had this problem with the same tires would you tell me thats normal, as I noticed the Cadi in the show room with the same GoodYear Eagles, high perforamnce tires, I also talked with a few other SS owners who dont have this problem....read morehide

Bought the car in march 06, no problems yet. The side mirrors have a huge blind spot.

I purchased my Impala SS in Feb. 2006 and ever since Oct 2006 when I had the tires rotated and balanced have had nothing but trouble. I have had both front rotors replaced, rack & pinion steering replaced, brake booster & Master cylinder replaced and all 4 tires replaced plus an alignment at the time the tires were replaced. My car is still vibrating when braking when you drive 55+ mph. When all the problems started I had just a little over 10,000 miles on it. I now have 16,000 miles on it. I have voiced my complaints to GM and I vow to never buy another GM product ever if I ever get rid of this one. I am curious to know if any one else has had this same problem because the impression I get my car is the first and I just find that hard to believe....read morehide

car pulls a little to right from Front Wheel drive engine tork/pull when excelleration from standstill or from a slow roll, into a corner or turn. I upgraded from a 2003 Impala to the 2006 SS so I wasn't use to that type of power - Need to get use to that.
