Excellent car. Too bad they quit making the MC. I have nearly 45k miles on mine, and I bought it new. Even with the 3.5L, power and ride are exceptional. Using full synthetic oil, my MPG has average 29 MPG (Combination town/highway). Engine is smooth, and flat out moves the car when it needs too. I bought the car for my Monday-Friday, 100 mile roundtrip commute to work. As a business traveller, I've rented about everything under the sun. The performance of these comparable rentals (fusion, charger, avenger, sonata, corolla) has made me appreciate my MC. The MC is destined to become a classic. I'll be keeping mine....read morehide

This is a really nice car for the price. I am very happy with my Monte Carlo. Mine is the exact color as in the picture to the left, looks just like my car. I have never had any problems with this car. It is realiable and dependable, I can always count on this car to get me were I am going. With a nice ride and the safe feeling of ONstar being there, and the hands free calling, love that. I can't think of anything negative to write about on this car only the stereo. I like loud, hard rock & roll and the system they have in this car is not the best for that type of music, so if you like loud hard rock you are better off putting in a upgraded system but, buy your own after market system. I just love this car, I don't know why they stopped making them....read morehide

As a guy who grew up driving large two door 70's cars like Cutlass, Grand Prix, Regal etc., I thought I"d better get one now as this type of vehicle is now extinct. This '06 Monte is truly the last of it's breed and anyone who used to love big two door American sporty cruisers had better shop now. A car buy based on nostalgia may sound silly but I've bought for worse reasons before. I'm truly sad to see this type car go away. Anyway, I'm pleased with this car and although it has faults, (as all cars do) it remains a very nice serene cruiser with plenty of power, quietness, comfort and to me, really attractive looks....read morehide

Only one bad side, you shouldn't have passengers alot. Like kids, or friends climing in an out all the time, cause its kinda a pain, but I have no kids and my friends have thier own cars so I dig it. Amazing power for still getting good fuel economy. Very sporty, but nice ride. All in all a great car for the price....read morehide

I really enjoy my 2006 Monte Carlo LTZ. It rides great and above all I love the style and features. The only thing I don't really like is the interior trim. I'm finding that the trim is easy to scratch and is loose in some areas (especially around the drivers door). I wish they would have come up with a better design for the trunk. Its great that its large, but when you have only a couple small items in it and tends to move around a lot. I would say the performance of the car is by far the most satisfying. The exterior appearance and the features are great too. It is such a great feeling to have the power on the highway over those German and Japanese cars! American muscle all the way!...read morehide

This is my second Monte Carlo and I have been very pleased so far! My 2001 was great, but I am hoping for an even better GM experience with the 2006 Monte Carlo SS! Time will tell!

I bought my 06 monte carlo ltz in july 06, and it was the best choice I have made in quite some time. I had an 02 monte carlo ls and it was ok but, the improvements on the 06 are wonderful. I have 10,000 miles on my ltz and have had no problems with the car so far at all. The power of this monte carlo over the 02. well there is no comparison on power and ride. I really love the new design of the 06 ltz. It is such a sharp looking car and I really love the car. I am so glad I bought it. For the big people out there, I weigh 340 pounds and this ltz feels so good. I have plenty of room for my body which is a consideration for a person my size. Thank you for listening....read morehide

I have read some of these reviews and have to say drive an 02 Z28 and you will pick this car instead. I owned both and the Monte has the same power, and more luxury and half the insurance cost. I get head looks in my gloss black with chrome rims. The xm radio rocks and mine came loaded for $32k. Bought 12-07-2005 and have 8,200 miles. I get 28-29 highway with my cruise on 70-75 mph. City mileage is about 13-15 which isn't bad considering my lead foot. I am heavy set and the seats feel like a lazy boy. My kids love the back seat for comfort. The onstar is vastly superior to my 02 avalanche in 4 years time. My only complaint is one lighter for an entire car. Other than that my recommendation is if you want one get an SS or you will regret it. I understand the new design will offer a 6.0 soon for 2008. Frankly the 327 is a better motor for gas mileage and car handling. If you want that much power get a Corvette with a 7.0. There is no wind noise in my car all I hear is the music and the pur of my exhaust. My wife and I love this car after having a Z28 for 4 years. No regrets....read morehide

I had a 97 Monte Carlo that I loved so much I thought an 2006 was going to be even better. I was soooo wrong I took it back to the dealer after 28 days and got a 06 Equinox that I love. In 74 I had a Vega that had better seats and more room than the 06 Monte Carlo and forget trying to get in the back seat you have to actually move the seat forward to put anything behind it and I do mean anything. So forget passangers this has got to be the biggest error gm ever made. Why did they remove the place for a keycard in the dash? This car does not function in the real world. The glove box holds nothing it's so small. It's really disheartening a car looking so fantastic going down the road and yet being such an interior design disaster. How can you get it so right on the outside and so wrong on the inside??...read morehide

I liked the Monte Carlos from the years 2001-2005 . The front end of the car was perfect. I wish they had consulted with a Chevy girl before changing the front end. I want a new car but I dont like the look of the new MC's.
