this truck is the best on the market for work, play and show. although i dont like the 07s just because they look too much like an escalade(sp?) im sure they run nice but you gotta admit, the 01s are the BEST

Truck only has 4,000 miles on it and has been in the shop several times since day one. Still no answers and still continue to have an annoying noise coming from the front differential, Dealer claims its a carrier bearring - this has been replace 2x's. Clunks when it shifts and shifts hard. Per dealer they stated they talked to Chevy and nothing can be done. I disagree....read morehide

I owned three other chevys and have not been disappointed with either of them. Been a loyal GM fan for long time had dodges and fords that never compared to what chevy produced.

Overall I am pleased with my crew cab Silverado Z71 4X4, the overall quality is very good and the ride is smooth for a truck. The fit and finish on my truck is very good and I have not noticed any strange noises or had any unexpected probems. The 5.3 engine is more than capable of towing my trailer and ATV's. The vortec engines are well built. It is very easy to drive and has a good turning radius. The back seat could use a couple more inches of legroom for the taller person and the back seat is somewhat uncomfortable on long trips because of its upright position.
I also own a 2002 Suburban Z71 4X4. The Suburban has 4.10 gears and seems to be more responsive than my 2006 Silverado Z71 4X4 although they have the same engine. I have just over 40k miles on my Suburban and I have no complaints, it has been very reliable thus far. I should have gotten the 4.10's on my Silverado.
I previously owned a 99 Ford F-250 4X4 diesel crew cab but I sold it after 36k miles when the turbo went out (It was repaired under warranty). I had other minor problems with the Ford such as the electric windows and door locks not working (My first and last Ford). I like my Chevy's better, they seem to be built better than the Fords....read morehide

I have owned 6 Chevy trucks. And will continue to buy Chevy trucks. Bar none, you can't beat a Chevy. Several friends own Fords, and Dodges and I am not impressed with them at all. They are not solid, and seem that it was not build with quality steel. I feel that I can out pull their trucks (HEMI) or not, Dodge don't match up to the power of Chevy. "Like A Rock"...read morehide

This vehicle is perfect it out tows toyota by a mile. And with way better fuel economy than toyota. This truck has the best value you'll ever have in a truck. Don't get a toyota its a piece of junk. GREAT JOB GM.

I wanted 3.73 gears and am really happy I ordered it up this way. I pull a 4 place enclosed snowmobile trailer on occasion (5-6000 lbs) and it pulls great. Just put it in 3rd and go. I had to do this with my excursion as well except instead of getting 7mpg I get 10 mpg with the chevy 5.3 and it drives and handles much better than my excursion even when pulling. I have been a ford guy as of late and really liked them until I got the excursion but enough of that. I couldn't beat the price and the truck is real nice all around. Fit and finish is very good. When I run around local and in town I am getting an everage of 16 mpg and on the highway I am getting 20 even with the 3.73 gears. If I had it to do over again I would go with the 4.10 gears and I could probably pull in overdrive as it is on the edge now depending on which way the wind is blowing. But as often as I tow the gears work out overall very well. The oncenter feel while driving is very nice. My fords and even the dodge I had just don't drive as nice as this. I have not driven the new f-150 so it should be compared....read morehide
