This car is the best car that you could ever ever ever buy, right now. It is really amazing, especially when you are turning a sharp corner.

Have had car about 3 months 5600 miles and I love this car smooth comfortable ride. Fords got this one right. This is going to be a very popular car seeing more and more out and about. Give this car a test ride its worth the effort this car will suprise you!

With SEL, bang-for-the-buck value is astronomically high. 5-SP man trans is nice and smooth, and makes driving fun again. Cavernous trunk space. Bells and whistles are awesome. I can't help but think we didn't go wrong buying this car, which is nice. Experience with Scott at Jim Norton Ford didn't involve mortal combat, so that was a pleasant departure, also....read morehide

Overall a good car, the interior is an improvement for Ford. I've had my Fusion for about 2 1/2 months, 7,000 miles on it. It's a comfortable ride for a long commute and is getting around 28 mpg on the highway.

This car is fantastic! My commute to work involves some country 2 lane roads, some suburban stop and go, and freeway driving that makes up 70 miles, one way. I am getting 30mpgs and I spend alot of time in the hammer lane. I absolutely love the 5 speed manual! If you love to drive and want to save $$ up front and at the gas pump but still want to have fun, THIS IS THE CAR FOR YOU. It meets all of those criteria no matter which order you put them in. Worried about room?? I just took this car on a weekend trip with 3 people total (one in a car seat). It's surprising how much stuff you can get in that trunk! There was plenty of room for all + luggage, sleeping bags, pillows, and such. Plenty of cup holders, too. Oh, yeah, 30mpgs with all that stuff! Nobody was cramped for space (and skinny I am NOT). The car rode comfortably and quiet except for my son who was a chatterbox all of the 450 mile roundtrip (u gotta love 4yr old boys) as he pointed out just about every tree and questioned just about everything else. Having this car made this weekend trip easy on the wallet while providing a comfortable ride. It moves well in and out of traffic and has adequate power (I found myself passing on 2 lane road without downshifting from 5th most of the time). If you can drive a manual, drive this one! Don't buy the automatic or the V6 without trying this one first. If it's for you, you will know right away. Fun, style, roomy, mpgs, for a reasonable price? All in the same car? And it's a Ford? It's a WIN, WIN, WIN. Thanks Ford. After I wear this one out I can already say that I'll be back for another one!...read morehide

I-4 SEL with 5 speed manual.
Ok, first with the good. This car idles as smoothly as most V6 engines thanks to it's twin counter-rotating shafts in the engine. At idle, it is eerily smooth and silent save for some injector noise that is evident when the stereo is off. Great torque above 1800rpm. It is a joy to shift through the gears while allowing the torque to pull you forward. 40mph in 5th gear is no problem while cruising. I am averaging 26mpg to and from work (50% stop-and-go, 50% highway driving). The best part about this car is that it is actually FUN to drive! This engine has a very linear response from 2000rpm to 6800rpm and is not peaky at all. I love driving this car more than I would a similar car with 100 more horsepower and an auto transmission. It feels so liberating to finally have a nice, roomy, great looking sedan with a quality 4 cylinder and manual transmission. The clutch feel is great, the shifter is a bit rubbery but certainly acceptable.
Cons: Needs and extra gear. This car revs at 3000rpm at 70mph and 3400rpm at 80mph. With the torque and power of this engine, a 6th gear - overdrive feature would be great in the manual trans. Plus, at 3000+ rpm the engine makes itself known that it is a 4 cylinder (noise). I would love to see a "sport" option with direct fuel injection, variable valve timing on the exhaust cams, and a 6 speed manual standard. It is just silly to rev as high as a mid 90's Dodge Neon on the highway. I also do not expect much more than 30mpg on the highway due to the high rpm's. The 5 speed auto trans keeps the rpm's much lower in overdrive due to its more conservative final drive ratio.
In summary, this is the car I have been waiting for! There has been nothing, and I mean nothing, out there that has impressed me as much as this car with its styling, driving dynamics, 4 cylinder options, and genuine feel. It just makes driving a joy again!...read morehide

I am a former owner of 4 Honda Accords up to year 2000. I bought a 2002 Taurus (which was a great car) which I recently traded for 2006 Fusion 2.3 4cyl / 5 speed. The car is gray with black leather interior, 6Cd/mp3 changer..moon roof. I love this car. The car is fun to drive with the 5 speed and gets great gas mileage. People looking for Camry or Accord should take a close look at this car. I believe the engine is a Mazda 4cyl / 160Hp....read morehide

I just but a Burgundy one and could not be happier. Before this Ford I was strictly a Chevy person and even up to seeing it I was still sceptical. After driving however, I have done a complete turn around. The acceleration is phenomenal. I was doing eighty on the test drive and didn't even notice until the salesman told me to slow down before I got a ticket....read morehide

Best car I have ever owned. My biggest concern was ordering the I4 manual, but that concern was unfounded. Handling and performance exceeded my expectations, plus I wasn't penalized on option availability because of the I4 stick. I work 42 miles from home and look forward to enjoying the round trip drive with this car. 2500 miles and averaging 28.2 MPG. This is like; the perfect car! When talking to my Accord and Camry friends, I tell them I own a Ford Fusion and am proud of it....read morehide
