Just a great vehicle. I had one when I was 18 and now at 35 the feeling hasn't changed.

This new Mustang is a great car it is rated better than most by the independant car mags on reliability and it is faster in the 1/4 mile than the the hemi Dodge Charger,check out the stats, plus it has good numbers when it comes to handling a great all around car for the money can't beat it

This car is a pleasure to drive it delivers performance for a value priced auto.
Don't expect it to be a BMW or Audi or a Benz because you are not in that league. It works for most people on a budget who want to feel good about driving an American sports car. I also have a 92 Mustang GT convertable, again fun to drive on a budget. People will ask me if it is for sale, the 05 and 06 will get the same reaction in the future....read morehide

i had a 2006 ford mustang gt, and i traded it for a 07 dodge charger r/t. mustang was too small and not enough power under the hood. 300 horses is not enough for a sports car.

A cultural icon, the Mustang should now be placed on the shelf along with other trophies from high school. It represents the worst of a bygone era - unneeded speed, low safety assurance, uncomfortable cabin, and high cost to operate (gas mileage, insurance, tires, etc.).

I agree 100 percent with the last two reviews. I would also like to add that sine I have accumulated 7,000 miles on my 2006 Deluxe GT Coupe, I have had mine on a road course for some legal fun. I currently live in the UK (aka - gas can alley) and home or several world renown race tracks including Silverstone Raceway among others. I recently took my Mustang to a local track called Brands Hatch to see how it really handled on a real road coarse and was pleasantly surprised. I have to admit, a stock Mustang probably wouldn't last long on it's stock brake system, but mine held up all day long with my 14in./4-piston caliper Brembo upgrade kit in front and 13in Steeda upgrade in the rear with Hawk HPS pads. I have not upgraded the stock suspension, but found that it was sufficient enough to really handle whatever the track had for me including the circuits unique combination of dips, cambers, corners and hills. I was literally hanging with a Porsche GT3 and two new Maserati's. At the end of the day, I paid to have a real race car driver take it to it's limits and found that the Mustang can really handle better than most people give it credit for. In fact, I sat as a passenger during the short 30 min session with the driver and he passed everything on the track - even passed two cars going three wide. The professional driver had nothing but good comments to say about my Mustang's handling.

The good news is that the Mustang aftermarket is vast and parts are readily available for a reasonable price. I consider myself a gearhead and have invested some serious money in mine only because I get tired of people doubting the performance of the new Mustang. I've proven I can hang with cars costing 10X the price of my car on the track. The average buyer can also enjoy profound changes from stock performance with only minor mods.

Buy yourself a Mustang and don't worry about batteries dying on you or cupholders or GPS systems. Enjoy it for what it is. It's no wonder the competition is so worried about this car and it continues to be the top-selling sports car for 19 years straight. You don't need to spend 60K+ to enjoy supercar performance either. This is one beauty of a design and it a modern day version of my '67 Mustang Coupe. The design is similar but that's where it stops. The handling characteristics of this vehicle are amazing and the smoothness and strength of this V8 are top notch. Now I know why it made Ward's Top 10 engine list. If you don't like this car then you were probably born after 1985 and have been brought up being told how bad American made cars are but my recommendation is, go drive this car and have an open mind and if still want to consider that underpowered Eclipse or the bubble shaped Z car then go right ahead because not everybody is cut out to be a Mustang enthusiasts but if you think you have what it takes, you won't be sorry....read morehide

Why bother with the back seat - not that I wanted one.

I gave up my low mileage '66 convertible for this car. I have owned a '65 fastback, a '66 convertible, a '76 Mustang II, a '79 fastback and a '81 t-top. So I have some knowledge and experience with Mustangs. This is the best Mustang ever built. The biggest difficulty I have is staying out of it. I wanted to keep the mileage down but I gave up. The only thing that will keep me out of it is the rain and snow. It is snowing as I write this - so I can't drive it - so I think I will go out to the garage and just sit in the "GT"...read morehide
