great MPGs got up to 45 MPG, the worst was 32MPG, 2000 miles on the LX so far

Cons

poor safety rating, only 3 out of 5 stars.

Disappointed at the poor goverment safety rating of the coupe. Honda is really misrepresenting the safety of the Civic with all the "ACE body" hype. the 2005 Civic coupe was rated much higher. I could have spent much less for a Colbalt and feel just as safe.

Pros

As advertised fuel economy. VTEC kicks in a high RPM, well made.

Low end torque needs better stereo

The car is great . Had mine, an LXf or 2 months and it gets the gas milage as advertised. Lots of pep in higher RPM range - must get used to that. Handels well and is responsive on road and curves. Easier to handle than 97 Civic. If you are a tuner, its a great place to start unless you get the Si. The stereo is lacking in power but add an amp and different speakers. Two hours ago traded 2005 Dodge Ram Hemi, 2 door, regular cab, sport appearance package, 20"wheels, 16.8 mpg on Civic 2 door LX coupe. First impression is Civic is fun to drive and at 6'=3" roomy enough front seating although back seating appears pretty tight.

Seems quick, dash intruments are nostalgic yet simple. Controls seem a little funky.

(2007 Camry discounted was only $3,000 more and worth every penny, but, I did not want 4 door sedan. Hands down the Camry is awesome for the money.)

I bought Civic for the mpg. If it averages 34 then mission accomplished. Bonus: looks, fun, roomy enough, sporty, assembled in USA.

I bought my Atomic Blue metallic Civic coupe in December, and it has been nothing but enjoyable. Excellent gas mileage, a sleek outside and a sophisticated inside, and pretty good performance, The gearshift is not the best I've ever tried, and it's hard to believe a car with so many other neat features doesn't have a remote trunk release, but these are small things. The bucket seats discriminate against heavy people. There is no way 250 lb + will fit

I just bought my Civic and so far I am impressed. I applaud Honda for including the V-tec engine and increasing the horses to 140. There is a noticeable difference in pickup from older models. The display on the dashaboard is comparable to any Acura. The car is a nice upgrade from the older models. The body design is definitely easy on the eyes. The only problem with this car is that it is tight fit, but that comes with the territiory when you purchase a coupe. The other problem was trying to locate one. I had to go to 3 different dealers before I found an LX. If you have ever driven a Civic, you need to forget your prior experiences and give the '06 a try. You will not find a better priced/looking car for $16,000. As you can obviously tell I am pleased with my purchase....read morehide

since my car is a coupe, i cant complain the back seating is somewhat small for people who are 5'10 feet or taller when they are laying straight back into the headrest as if they are sleeping.
the car was a little pricey with the standard "destination and handling fee" and the high tax rate in california, but it was well worth it....read morehide
