I own a yellow 2006 H3 and I love it. I have had so many compliments on how it looks as well as how it rides. I was amazed by the smooth ride, it doesn't ride like a truck or as expected. It is great for long trips. I have the luxury package with heated leather. The seats are very comfortable and they heat up very fast. In the cold winter the heat gets warm faster then any other vehicle I have been in. I would recomend the H3 to anyone looking for a reliable, fun, and comfortable ride!...read morehide

I'm tired of hearing all of these little girls leaving negative feed back about the Ride, Comfort, Cup Holders, and what not. The H3 is for those who like the old Ford Broncos and International Scouts but don't want the issues found with old vehicles. Go buy a Lincoln Grandma car if you want something plush. For the big tires, offroad capability, and rugged looks the H3 is an EXCELLANT vehicle. Know what your buying.. you can't expect a sports car or luxery ride out of a brick going down the highway. It is what it is... Wake up and stop complaining....read morehide

I got the 2006 H3 in July of of 06, I didn't do much research about them before hand which was a huge mistake on my part. The little reseach that I did do was listening to all the Hummer lovers telling me how great the H3 was, and to ignore what they said was minor issues like the odd i-5 engine. A lot of reviews rate this vehicle highly because of its off-road capability, but ingnore it many glaring problems.
The H3 is an amazing off-road SUV, probably the best in its class. It easily beats out the Toyota Fj Cruiser, which I know is another popular off-road capable SUV, in terms of off-road ability. Unfortunately the good stuff ends there. The H3 is oen of the most uncomfortable ride I've had from a vehicle made after 2000. The back seats are short on butt-space, and almost feel like you're sitting on hard plastic. The rear seats don't even fold flat for storage space!! I've seen many much smaller SUVs that have rear seat that fold flat with no problems, there is no excuse as to why the H3's couldn't as well.
The power of the H3 is bad, I mean really bad. You can forget about passing anyone on the highway, or going up any steep incline without ten angry people on your backside while you're flooring the gas pedal to minimal response. Because the H3 is so unpowered, yet such a heavy piece of machinery, you will be getting a lot of on loud engine noise. The H3 also has a very stiff, bumpy ride, especially if you go with the adventure pack.
The rest of the interior is very minimalist. All blacked out, similar to asphault, there are hardly any good tech OEM offerings. No support for iPods, or any mp3 player. The storage up front it terrible, two drink holders, and a small hard to reach center console. No easy access places for cellphones, sunglasses, mp3 players, ect. Really poor American car designed interior that has a lot of catching up to do....read morehide

I've had mine for about a month and love it. I also have read about the performance, and I have not had any issues as I find the acceleration pretty good for a vehicle this size. The ride and handling are good and the turning radius is excellent. The fuel mileage is pretty low, although I hope it increases when the vehicle is broken in. Haven't tried it off road yet....read morehide

With only 6000 miles on the H3 I have had it in the shop 2 times and the problem is still not fixed. Parts are back ordered and no one can tell me for how long. It misfires and has a bad vibration when idling. Also just pulled it out of the garage and there is a puddle of black watery fluid on my floor. Hummer told me on the phone they are having alot of these problems on the H3. Thank GM for selling me something thats already broke down....read morehide

First off, I don't understand the comments about the ride being rough. My H3 runs smoothly on the highway. My other car is a Mitsubishi Eclipse where I can feel ALL the bumps. My husband and I bought this car mainly for the purpose of toting around our new precious little baby girl last year. We wanted something safe, which from the reviews, we got that knocked out. I've always loved the look of the Hummer, so the H3 fit that bill. Haven't had the chance to go offroading in it yet, but I WILL make it a point to do that here in the next couple of months.
Second, in Southern California, the gas is high already, but with what we put into it, it's really not that bad.The turning radius is better than my eclipse!. The sound system is wonderful and I love having an ONSTAR system. It makes me feel that much more safe riding in it. It picks up ok on acceleration. I wasn't expecting a corvette! The only drawbacks I would say would be the cargo space and maybe the cabin. It's definitely not for super tall people, luckily I'm short. The interior, though nice, isnt as "flashy" as some of the other SUVs I've seen but I'd rather not pay for a navigation system upgrade when I practically know my city like the back of my hand anyway. Other than that, I'm completely happy with my Hummer and I am a hummer owner for life now..which if the H2's gas mileage ever gets better, I may upgrade to that!...read morehide

I hear alot about under powered, I have owned 3 grand wagoneeres
(the real ones forn the eighties and nighties) an old scout, and a cherokee chief 79. This vehicle is powered correctly for off road performance in sand and trails it will get yopu there and back, you are only going 10 to 15 mph in the woods. Its great on fire roads it doesnt shake and vibrate you to death, as far as highway its very comfortable and stable. and it will go 75 to 80 mph @ 2500 rpms how fast does it need to go??...read morehide
