Bought this car for our teenager after reviewing all the automotive websites, Consumer Reports, etc. The top rated crash safety tests weighed in heavy in our final decision to buy this car. The body styling, comfort, roominess, numerous standard features and of course the excellent warranty also were impressive. So after all the research we did, the decision to get the Sonata V6 was an easy one. We have not regretted it at all. Had the car a few months now and it's been a dream to drive a car this nice - especially for the money. It's very roomy - plenty of room for three friends in the back and still lots of elbow room. It has a very smooth, quiet ride. We got the V6 and it has more than enough power - from a standstill as well as at higher speeds getting on the highway where that extra boost of power can really help. This car brakes well and feels more like a luxury car however around corners it is a little mushy - though not so much that it's a problem. Many people have made comments about a gas sloshing sound or clunking sounds from the trunk but we have not heard anything like that at all. Our only concern is resale value down the road but we plan on keeping this car for quite a while so we'll see what happens later. This car is becoming very popular since they updated the body style, so maybe the resale value won't take the hit that it used to. Anyway, we paid about $5,000 less than a similarly equipped Honda Accord so we're already ahead of the game!
We would highly recommend this car!!...read morehide

I purchase this new Sonata 06, V6 with 17' wheels a year ago. So far, I had minor problems with the front brakes and drivers seat (seat was craking). Dealer provided good service. So far, Im please with the car for the price I paid for. Dont have any problems yet. I found it expensive on gas. My Sonata average 400km per tank. Dealer told me to wait past 16 000km to start to see a difference and I don't expect to see one... This is my first new car; I had a Mazda Protégé 2002 (rental) before. We were looking for a family car and we have found that the Sonata was very roomy and the truck capacity is great. When purchasing a new car from Hyundai, take a moment to verify the complete inside/out integrity of the car even if it is brand new. By doing so, you might save some trips back to the dealer and some disappointment....read morehide

i have had mine for 16 months , roughly 27000 miles, we regret buying it for these reasons. very little trade in value. all kinda of rattles and noise from the car. a/c smells musky to say the least. we have change the air filter 2 times but it smells like the a/c has stagnet water in it... please think twice before buying this car . and don't get suck into the warranty and price.. not a very well built vehicle....read morehide

Well I don't have a hyundai but I rented the top model (don't know what trim it was exactly) last yr for a month or so. I was surprised and actually very impressed with it.
I thought the car was very roomy with a nice smooth ride.
The system was more than decent and others agreed...I mean after all they were factory speakers so we had a reason for shock.
I'd grown so attached to the car I didn't want to turn it back in to the rental place!
Anyway, I'd had the opportunity to buy a Hyundai 2 yrs ago but bought something else instead. I am thinking of getting another car in a year. I may try a Hyundai....read morehide

The car is a good value for the money, and it's appearance resembles the Honda Accord. On the downside, I have experienced noise from the rear tire wells and minor rattling noise from the seats when driving over rough road surfaces. Also, the seats are somewhat uncomfortable and like many cars these days, key entry is only from the driver's side. Overall, however, I would recommend this car as a very legitimate entry for new car buyers shopping in the sub-$20,000 range....read morehide
