I have owned Isuzu, Toyota, Honda, Dodge, Ford and GM and out of all of the vehicals that I have owned, the Ascender is one of the best vehicals that I have owned for dependability, ride comfort and ability to become a beast if necessary and get 4-wheel driving. We love the vehicle. Bought it for my wife. Looked at Jeep Liberty, Kia Sorento and Honda Passport. No comparison. This is a real SUV built for Isuzu by GM. Same as the Chevy Trailblazer. Pricing is better than the Trailblazer and the afore mentioned vehicles. The warranty is better too. Bought January 2006 and now have over 10K on it, no problems. None. Don't expect any. This vehicle is well put together. My wife backed into the side of a Honda Accord at work and has been rear ended by what I think was another Honda Accord (go figure). Both of the Hondas recieved pretty severe damage, the Ascender has a nick on the rear bumper. As I said, this is a real SUV, body-on-frame construction, not unibody like many of the other mid-size SUVs. I don't think a vehicle w/ unibody construction would come away from two impacts w/ just a nick. I also like the inline 6 cylinder engine and rear wheel drive. GM has been making this combo forever and they should know how to do it right. I expect to keep this vehicle in the family for a long time. Probably 200k plus. Decent fuel economy and handles well on the highway. This is a good smooth riding SUV

I purchased the Ascender in February. I had never heard of the SUV and mainly wanted to by a GMC ENVOY. After accidently finding out about the Ascender, I am very pleased with my purchase and the cost was cheaper than the Envoy.

It also has a very good waranty.
