Had a 2005 that had lag/lurch problems. Didn't think it was possible to get two - our 2006 is bad too. It's a danger to accelerate and not go. It's also dangerous to touch the accelerate and have it bolt. Some serious problems with this vehicle. Stay safe and drive carefully!

This car is the best car for the value. It is much more comfortable than European luxury sedans.

We are not able to use the car due to acceleration problems. Working with the state attourney general and KIA on a refund. Seems hundreds of folks around the country have had this probem. A real safety concern. Besides that it seems to be a real nice car. Hope the 2007 with the 3.8L engine is a toatal redesign and the acceleration problems are fixed....read morehide

Have 2004 model, bought new, now have 38,000 miles; no problems to date; owned Q-45 prior to this auto - it is as smooth as Q-45 at less than half the price. My wife loves this auto! It gets 17 mpg in town and 24 mpg on highway.

transmission replaced at 13000kms (7800 miles) Speed sensor (2) replaced in a 2 week period. Computer faults which will be replaced this week. Poor trade-in value. Gas mileage averages 17 mpg city/hwy. Underpowered for weight of vehicle. More problems with this car than previous Nissan Maxima SE....read morehide

The best car i have owned. 2 major concerns that may seem as nit picking but a car of this quality should have them: #1 day-time running lights. Canadian Amanti's have DRL but USA KIA will not put them on the American version of the car? This is a safety feature and i cannot fathom their reasoning for not having them on the American Amanti. #2 no delay in the headlight off timing at night. Turn the key off and the headlights are off too. Should have an adjustable delay to leave them on for a period of time to "find the door" "find your keys" etc. #3 just a bit more "sport" suspension with a little less body lean would improve the overall feel of the car.
All this being said the car is a winner. fit and finish is as good as you will find on ANY car. Seating is comfortable and the interior is ergonomically laid out. I love the car and will buy another one....read morehide

How can you protect your family better than 8 air bags??? I won't change anything on my Amanti!!! This is one of those cars that 20 years from now we'll be saying, "another car IA Classy Classic had that I miss was a 2005 Kia Amanti",Man those were the days.

My wife and I had two MB420SELs for 200,000+ miles each, but after 17 years, we figured it was time to buy a new car. Gave one of the 420s to my youngest son, and sold the other. Sad to see them go, as they were great cars. BUT..the new ones look like Toyotas, so when
When I first saw the Amanti, it was in an auto mag that painted a very good picture of the car, so I knew I would test drive it for our next car. We researched KIA and specifically the Amanti on the net, saw that it's safety reports were higher than any of the competition, and so when it came time to test drive, we drove a new MB, Toyota Avalon, Chrysler 300, and left the Amanti for last. What a chock...it was the least priced, but we both felt it was the best car for the money.
I called every KIA dealer within 200 miles, told the managers that I was buying a Pearl White Amanti from the dealer with the best price...saved almost $4,000 to drive 2 hours!
The ONLY somewhat disappointing thing is a problem with filling the gas tank...we have to hold the pump handle, as the angle on the spout in the car seems to cause every pump to click off after just a few seconds...very frustrating!
I tell you, if you removed the name KIA from this car, people would assume like it's an expensive Italian job...
We love the car, and constantly recommend it to those that ask...and a lot of people are asking. The only thing lacking is the dealers paying me a commission!...read morehide

I just traded in my SUV (finally) for a sedan. This car is the bomb! I am so impressed by the quality and design of the interior. Leather, heated seats (can't wait for winter now!), Infinity 6-disc CD (great sound quality) and beautiful wood-grain accents. Also, a very smooth, even ride with good pick up. I can't say enough good things about my Amanti!
Can't wait to see if the warranty is what they say it is...
Overall, a happy satisfied customer!...read morehide

We loved it so much we bought a second one. If you were to take the imenities of this vehicle couple that with the performance and then add the warranty you'd send much much more on any other vehicle. I have had my vehicle in for warranty once and absolutey no hassle whatsoever. Lee Iacocca said "if you can a better car, buy it". So we did, times two....read morehide
