Difficult to get into and out of

I've had this car for almost a year now and I am still very much in love with it. If you buy this car, be prepared to be accosted nearly every time you drive by people, both men and women, wanting to ask you what it is and how fast it goes. This car is an absolute joy to drive and every time I crank it up, I am reminded of exactly what it was that made me want to buy it in the first place.

On a very down to earth note, because if you're reading this you michgt want to know the whole truth, this car is NOT for everyone. I would not recommend it as a daily driver. It is very small and a very rough ride with only enough trunk space to store your soft top. I don't drive it in the rain as I have discovered through experience that the soft top leaks quite profusely. I do have the hard top, but I prefer to leave it topless as it does make it much simpler to get into and out of. If you are at all heavy-set, this is most certainly not the best choice for you due to its extremely tight quarters. My husband and I are pretty smooshed together when he's in the passenger seat and neither one of us is large.

Having said all that, I wouldn't trade mine for the world. If I'm ever having a bad day, all I have to do is get the little yellow beastie out of the garage and I'll be wearing a smile for the rest of the day. Amazing looks, very quick, exotic appeal. Ride is more comfortable than I thought.

Bumpy, squeeky and rattly on rough roads. shifter is a little clunky, entry and exit are difficult.

Don't bring this car on a fine dining date. Your date's high heels will do a lot of damage to the thick, plastic door sill. This car is amazing to drive. It gives an instant adreneline rush and the steering, though feel is not as good as a BMW M3 or a MINI; is very precise. The engine is very responsive and it kicks!! Watch out for speeding tickets, this car encourages fast and furious driving. Don't park where it's a little tight, you need to fully swing the door open to enter and exit. This car looks and drives quite exotically. Driving it home from the dealership, people gawk and stared, from young to old. It gets attention like the cars in 100 to 200K. On rough roads, there are rattles and shakes and you can hear the engine noise behind you, but it's livable. I bought the Elise sport, so the suspension is firmer than stock. I have had my elise for less than a month. I find every reason to drive it. You can take 90 degree turns at 50 mph without any problem. The car stops very well without antilock breaks. I looked at all the other sport cars under 60 thousand. The elise was by far the best bang for the buck if you can go without some the luxury items offered in the z, z4, slk, or caymane. The interior is very spartan but functional. I look forward to warmer weather to drive with the top off. It will barely fit a 6 foot 260 pound driver such as myself, not comfortable.

I love this car. It's perfect for anybody who has $44,790 that needs a car to go speeding on the weekends in clear traffic and never get tired of it. Not to mention the person must be shorter than 6 foot and needs to weigh less than 200 pounds in order to sit, drive, and enter/exit properly in this car....read morehide

to buy a 911 F360 SLR just showing you have that much $ to buy a highend car.

But, ownning a Lotus means you are such a driving maniac. perfect handing, perfect look, the only thing nt match a 5 star is the modified toyota engine.

with the honda engine, Lotus can smoke all.

Street legal racecar feel, ride, sound, performance, and eye-catching looks.

You wear this car and must be agile to get in and out, poor visibility with top on.

This is a minimalist car designed for those of us who love to drive and want to feel like an extension of the machine. The seats are comfortable and the controls have a positive mechanical feel. This is not a car that I would want to drive very far unless the road was smooth and curvy. The suspension is stiff for great cornering but will make even the smallest of bumps feel huge.
