This car is a lot of fun to drive. I have gotten excellent gas mileage and a nice smooth ride which I wasn't expecting. Most sports cars that I've test driven have been pretty bumpy, except this one.

This is definitely a head-turner and I have always received many compliments on the car anytime I've stopped at the gas station, went to the store or gone to work.

I was taken back a little the first time I got the oil changed and they told me it was going to be $135. The cup holders are above the head unit which seems like an odd spot since any condensation from your drink will drip down onto the control buttons and eventaully make them stick. I end up asking for an extra napkin so that I can set it in my cupholder to prevent the drips.

If you do buy the car used you will save a LOT of money. I paid about half of the original cost having waited 3 years. Very reliable and running very strong. I do plan on continuing the scheduled maintanence schedule....read morehide

Overall an awesome car. Very first mercedes, love it. You can cruise along with the top down in comfort luxury or drive really fast. Power is always available. When driven lightly, fuel economy is great. Have seen 28.4 mpg at 55mph, that is amazing out of an engine this size with this type of power available. Insurance was reasonable. Interior is very neat, materials are awesome, love the soft dash. Great storage for a car this size.

Just a couple not so good things, base stereo for a car like this is shameful. It is bad when you turn it up. Low volumes it sounds pretty good, but don't turn it up. No lumbar support adjustment in the seat. Lower back support not really their, overall the seats are very comfortable, just wish with all those power seat buttons they would have thought about that. Cup holders, don't get it.

Brakes sound TERRIBLE

I have been having the same problem with my brakes. I have had my car in 3 times for the same problem....noisy brakes. The first 2 times the service department just tinkered around with them and sent me on my way - said they put clips to lessen the sound and then roughed them up. The 3rd time they "said" they replaced the brakes...?????

And now (3 weeks later) the brakes are making the same noise...

I feel like driving it through the show room and parking on the salesman's desk.

Very frustrating to pay so much for a beautiful car.... that sounds so bad....read morehide

Cruise Control Lever Position May Kill You, Base Stereo is a Punishment for not Upgrading

WOW! What a thrill to look at and to drive! The SLK350 has that neck snapping torque I live for. It turns head everywhere I go and people stop me to tell me it is their dream car. I tell them the reality vs. the dream is no disappointment. Stop the 401k contributions and buy one!

Performance is EXCELLENT! The traction lock is pretty amazing! I was contemplating riding out a fishtail on an on-ramp but the stabilizer kicked in and straightened the car out immediately and perfectly. How did it know not to overcompensate?! (Now I shut it off if I want to drift around a curve but it’s nice to know it’s there.)

I was amazed the Air Scarf really worked. I thought it was another unnecessary luxury car joke of an option. On a 40 degree non-windy day it was short sleeve comfortable with the top down at city speeds. It created like a vortex of warm air in the cabin. It is definitely a viable option!..(If you don’t mind people looking at you funny for having top down in winter.)

The position of the cruise control is very close to the directional. When wanting to turn right, I usually activate the cruise control. Now keep in mind, if I am turning, chances are I am slowing down, but the cruise kicks in and tries to accelerate. Hope I get used to the positioning before it kills me. A little scary the first time it happened.

The base radio is at best unexciting. There is no way to get a good sound without some huge distortion. Consider it a punishment for not ordering the upgraded system.

PLEASE do not complain about the cup holder. Simply put, the Germans design cars to hold roads, not cups. Try to appreciate that. And the glove box…. Just let it go.....

My first Mercedes and I LOVE it! The speed and handling is very impressive. The body style is sleek. This car turns an ordinary day or a bad day into a good one once behind the wheel. I can put up with all those flaws as the car has stunning appearance. It handles less than BMW Z4 or Boxster but it has class and cred. Just wish it has better storage for keys and wallets and mobiles.

this is my second SLK350,MBS bought my first one after 13 repair on windows,SRS light problem and finally transmission replacement all in less then 24 months.Well at least they accept the fact that the car has major problem.I purchased my second SLK350,after they promisses that this one built better,which it is or at least I think so.It handels great and got most of the option on it.Well five months later I have problem with the heater motor,so I took the car for repair some times in late OCT.2006 and now its Dec 2006 and car still in the shop.My problem is I have been driving MBZ most of my life and keep going back or maybe its time to go to another make....read morehide

I had this car for about 9 months. It is very stylish, very eye catching. Car is very powerful. I've priced other Roadsters and this one gets the bang for the buck. It is more stylish than the Z-4 and the Boxster. I love the retractable HARD TOP and Airscarf which the other two models doesn't offer. The car does need some lumbar support and needs work on eliminating blind spots. Glove box needs to be bigger, otherwise it's useless....read morehide

This Car is heaven on 4 wheels. Great styling and handling. If you get the SLK 350 with the AMG package you have to try to F-1 style shifting even on the 7 speed auto the car flies and with the 7 speed there is always power even at 50 mph just push the pedal all the way down and feel the power.

I am very happy with the car. It gets a lot of looks. No problems have occured. Have learned to live with small trunk, it holds more that you think it does. Needed to get a hands free phone installed . The dealers had never done one . After I got the price from two different dealers I understand why. Heated neck rest is great for me but is way to high for my 5ft 2in wife. It is adjustable but not that low. If you put it all the way up it would be for some one 6ft 4in and the will not fit into the car. It does not make sence. Would buy it again. I could not get the premium package but I would recommend that you get it....read morehide
