2006 Scion xB 5-Door Wagon

Fuel economy, price, colors, easy to deal with dealership

Needs more power, no cruise control option, A/C is weak

Scion's are the best deal for the money. I was in and out of the dealership (Doxon toyota in Auburn, WA) in just over an hour. I bought the camo color that I hear will be discontinued in Dec in exchange for a color called pewter. The dealership let me put '05 wheel covers on it since I liked those better than the '06 ones. I usually feel ripped off after I leave a dealership but this time I feel totatly satisfied. Save your money on accessories though, ebay has them for way cheaper and so does most online stores. OEM stuff for about 3/4 the price of dealerships.
The power and A/C are a little weak but I am more interested in the fuel savings so I really cant complain. I find it disapointing though that Scion recommends changing spark plugs every 30k miles and the xb is not even a ULEV rated vehicle. Civics get better MPG and are ULEV rated. I think toyota could put a bit more science into these cars, but then Im sure the price would go up too. The roominess is amazing and I can lay all the seats down and sleep quite comfortably when I go camping. I havent noticed any real wind noise and the road noise actually seems less than in my '01 Civic. There is no cruise control option but you can find aftermarket ones out there. The dealership told me I could have one for $599 installed. Im sure I can manage keeping my foot on the pedal for 600 bucks. The alarm is not worth 600 bucks either so I will purchase one from Car Toys. I havent made up my mind about the IPOD radio either...$260 is pretty steep just so I can read what music Im playing and look at pretty colors on the screen. Stock my xb comes with a mp3 player jack so I could still listen to my IPOD, just without the cute touches. Ebay will probably have these pretty soon for half the dealer price.
I bought mine for $15,195. Thats it. No hidden fees or anything. Stock automatic, camo green.
