STILL DON'T SEE HOW THOSE 2 LITTLE MIRROWS IN BACK ARE SUPPOSE TO WORK. SUN GLASS HOLDER NEEDS PADING, NICE IF IT HAD COMBO ON DOOR TO OPEN, REAR SPOILER HELPS IN KEEPING BACK WINDOW CLEAN, FRONT BODY DON'T SEEM TO CATCH THE STONE CHIPS AS BAD, LIKING IT BETTER AS TIME GOES BY.

I have fooled myself 3 times in a row with my last new Toyotas. Neither of them was good. Rotten smell from exhaust during strong acceleration, seized calipers, no heat during cold weather (faulty blowing motor), rusted rotors, rusted aluminum wheels (yes aluminum!), new vehicle sold with no alignment (strong pulling to the side). Driving from the stop was causing strong bang in the rear end. Water was everywhere (hatch, doors, and dashboard). Windows seals were lost on the highway. Problems explained to different dealers but most of them not repaired. I was told that it was a beauty of the car and vehicle was compliant to the manufactures specifications. Neither of my Toyotas was reliable from 2003 and on, however all of them were rated as the best buy. Definitely they were my worst cars; whoever rated them probably did not have too much experience. Mediocre vehicles, vague steering not much fun oh yes I new before I bought them but my expectations were towards reliability with was in non existence but in par with bad service....read morehide

I have NO IDEA what Allen from Edina MN is talking about when he says "not enough headroom and I am only 5'9". Don't believe it! I am 6'0" and I have plenty of head room even when wearing a hat!!! Maybe he didn't spend time to adjust the seat? I have even had two buddies I play hockey with who are 6'3" and 6'0" sit in the backseat when I am driving and we all have plenty of room. I am so happy with our 4Runner. I had wanted one since back when I was a broke student in grad school and now that I have one it doesn't disappoint. I bought the 4Runner 5 months ago and wanted to wait to write a review so to be sure I could give an accurate/fair review. The MP3 AUX jack in the middle console is great for crystal clear hookup of our ipod... no more radio transmitter with static for our trips! Only negatives are the 17mpg average after 5 months (but it is a V8 SUV what else should I expect?!?) Better than the 13mpg with the ugly Durango! Other negative is the mini flip-down table in the middle console. A waste of space... two more cupholders would be better. However, the 2 adjustable cupholder the 4Runner does have are great. Can adjust from a skinny Red Bull can to a huge to-go pop from the gas-station. I got the Sport in black and there is a definite WOW factor with co-workers/friends. Very sharp is black with silver trim!!!...read morehide

I really love my 4runner. I have had a Ford Explorer before and it was okay, but I love the Toyota much more! I went from a Chevy Malibu to the 4runner because I needed more room. It is everything that I wanted in a vehicle. We looked at every type of SUV that there was out there and this was the only one that my husband and I both agreed on. We both love it. I did not like driving a car, so I loved going back to another SUV, especially one as nice and smooth riding as the 4runner. We love it!!!!!!!...read morehide

I have owned a 1998 Dodge Durango SLT 4x4, 2003 Mitsubishi Montero Limited, and 1997 Range Rover. There is only one of these Vehicles that has a slight advantage. The Range has better approach breakover and departure angles but, only by a couple degrees. I love my 4RUNNER, feel s and looks like a truck but drives and handles like a sports car(Xreas suspension) 0-60 between 7.1 and 7.4 seconds, I would like to see anything but a high output V8 touch that.. It takes the cake as a whole package. There are other vehicles on the market that are being compared to the 4RUNNER but, let me tell ya, once you drive one you'll want to buy one. Finally a vehicle that will last and have a resale value!
I don't have enough good things to say about it....read morehide

I just love my 4x4 Sport Edition, with Red Salsa color. I have the v6 and the only reason you might need the v8 is for towing. I have owned Chevys and Fords for years...my mistake. This vehicle is way ahead.... interior styling, performance with economey. I constantly get, "Nice 4Runner", and head turns. Inside has ample room for 5 adults for a multi. hour trip, (taken several) without complaints.Performs in traffic like a sports car and snow like a snow cat...read morehide

I bought my new 4runner 2WD Sport Edition in 10/2006 and driven for 5500 miles in rain, wind, and dry pavement in highway and city only but not yet on dirt or snow. It handles extremely well and very quiet. There is occasional wind noises heard coming from the roof possibly the roof rack. Almost no lean turning at highway curves at high 40-60 mph due to X_REAS system. Very good acceleration and feel light and occasional feel of heaviness. OVERALL, I LOVE TO DRIVE IT.
The seats are comfortable but the dark color ampilfies small messes. 2nd row seats are comfortable but feel little bumpy when travelling over rough roads. The cd/radio sounds okay definitely not the best. Entering the vehicle is not the easiest. exiting out vehicle is harder. Challenged height persons might consider it before buying any SUV. However, high seating position results in better visibility, a plus, for short persons might find this to their advantage.
The steering wheel was shaking and dealer diagnosed due to imbalanced dunlop grandtrekat20 and dealer replaced with all 5 michellincrossterrain tire without cost. Now the shaking steering wheel disappeared. ocassional rattles from the sun visor, have not told the dealer to fix it yet.
MPG computer register is about 18.5 - +1 in the city, 24 + - 2 on highway depending on wind and speed factors on moslty flat roads. Common sense, increased speed and wind decrease mpg. better mpg at mph range of 50-65.
It is $$xpensive but it is worth it. It retains excellent resale value. Insurance co. charges less than for a new Camry. This is my 8th toyota and my first SUV and 3rd new toyota. all my 2 previous new toyota have been extremely reliable. I predict this 4runner will either have same high reliability or better.
I highly RECOMMEND the 4runner to anyone who is looking for SUV. If you are only looking a car, I suggest you try test driving 4Runner. Afterward, you might want to buy this 4Runner. This 4Runnner drives like very close to a car. I tested driven Highlander, in some way Highlander is better but not much. I can say 4runner handles better at highway curves. Entering and exiting Highlander is easier for kids and old peoples.
If you are looking good MPG and fuel conscious vehicle, SUV is not for you. My CAMRY gets at least 7-12 MPG better. The fuel gap between SUV and car is still huge....read morehide

My wife & I just brought our 2007 4 runner about 3 weeks ago. I felt it was time to upgrade from her previous car. I must say, so far we are really impressed with the 4 runner. It handles great, very smooth ride & performed very well in the snow, we can't be more proud. Before my wife drove a hyundia santa fe. the worst jeep out there if you as me. It stayed in the shop. My 1999 Honda is still running strong and never gave us any problems. I am sure the 4 runner will prove itself to be an excellent addition to our house hold....read morehide

I only have driven it about 2k miles, but am very pleased. At 700 miles I took an 1100 mile trip. With each tank of gas the mileage got better. I knew this would happen, as Toyota engines start out very tight and need upwards of 10k miles to really break in. Last tank was 21 mpg at over 75mph. Ride is good, handling is quick. It took some adjusting to this, as I traded in a 2001 Avalon, that drove and round better than most other luxury sedans. The driver's seat has taken me some time to get adjusted (manual), and the cloth surface tends to grip certain pants and shirt fabrics, making shifting around a craft that is learned. Tested a Ford Explore, and the Toyota has it beat in intereior width and feel, engine noise, standard towing, and seat comfort. So far I am very pleased with this purchase....read morehide
