Ok...so my Corolla S is actually a 2005. I was reading the reviews of the 2006's that people have posted and wanted everyone who has the Corolla S, that it is a GREAT buy. My '05 Corolla S has about 57K miles on it. I put a lot of wear and tear on my vehicle for my job. I have not had any problems! I love my car! I average about 38 miles per gallon (mostly hwy driving). My sister has a 2004 Corolla S. I was so impressed with how her car handled that I had to have one. Car takes corners like it is on rails - great handling. Love, love, love my car and recommend a Corolla to everyone!! Affordable, dependable, economical, looks good and FUN to drive!!...read morehide

I bought my brand new Toyota Corolla S in July. I have had no problems with it at all. It is roomy and comfertable for long rides. The gas milage is really good. It's about $20 every 2 weeks to fill up my tank. I'm glad I bought this car.

First of all I've had 3 Corolla's since 2001. My 2001 was in a car accident this was the best built model. My 2004 Toyota Corolla S had brake pedal problems all owners of 2004 models should check into it I kept hearing a clicking noise like the pedal wanted to fall off. Toyota fixed it 2 times but did not want to replace the car so I traded the 2004 Corrolla in for a 2006 Toyota Corolla S. Unfortunately because I feel Toyota did not stand behind my 2004 model I lost over $10,000 in payments on this car because I wanted to trade it in it was a hazard on the road. I only stayed with Toyota because I was through Toyota Financial Services, they knew my payment history already. My 2006 Corolla will be the last Toyota I ever buy in my lifetime, I was very disappointed in Toyota, and told many of my friends not to buy Toyota's many were interested in the Camry, and Corolla, but not after they heard my story.
My 2006 Corolla I bought new it's running well no brake pedal problems yet, but with Toyota Corolla's I've noticed has a thing with loose brake pedals. Try this when you put your car in park turn the engine off and put your hand on the brake pedal you might find that it wiggles a bit or that it has alot of play in it other car model do not have this problem. So so far the only problem I've had with Corolla's is the brake pedal. The 2006 model is a great car Toyota's engine and transmisions are great they run and last a long time.
I know alot about Corolla's since I've had 3 of them. Now let me talk about Toyota dealership's my 2006 Corolla had scratches on the brand-new car when I purchased it. From my experience if you see a scratch on a new car have then order you a new one. Now I'm noticing my front fender is very loose from them not installing the bumper right whoever the dealer sent the car to, to fix the scratches they would not disclose this information to me.
So overall I love Corolla's but have had some very bad service from Toyota Dealerships. My next car will be a Honda Accord or a S.U.V. I will trade in my 2006 Corolla, and continue telling my story about Toyota's bad service and reputation. I also went as far as writing a letter to Toyota's headquarters in Japan. If you have any problems by all means do this and I reported them to the Better Business Bureau....read morehide

We traded our gas guzzling Xterra in on this cute fuel saver & boy do we save. We test drove other cars in its class, and determined this car was the best bang for the buck! My husband averages about 30 mpg in this car which he uses to get to and from work everyday. It is zippy and as comfortable as you would expect for a compact car, after all this is not a lexus. The trunk is roomy for this little car.
Cons -- acceleration on inclines is slow and sluggish and the car whines on the interstate going uphill (which is a constant in WV)....read morehide

Bought this car new for my wife and will be a year old at the end of this month. Have been very impressed with the handling and gasoline mileage. Went round trip to Cleveland, Ohio and average 37 mpg which I thought was outstanding.
The car rides like a dream and it is really surprising for a vehicle of its size. In addition, the standard features are the S model are outstanding. Fog lights, leather steering wheel and leather shift knob and tinted windows.
Had to purchase a cargo net seperately and feel that it should have been a standard feature with the vehicle.
Overall, one of the best Toyota products we have ever owned and we have been being their products since 1970!...read morehide

Chose the Corolla s for reliability and the looks. Got about 27-28 mpg after 2600 km. Interior materials could be better especially the dash. Lots less standard festures compared to Civic and Mazda 3. Like the ride, the exterior finish but has lots of road noise. Acceleration is decent but it only has 126 hp so its understandable. Visiblilty is good and the main result we bought it, for the wife. If its for me, would certainly go for Mazda 3....read morehide
