Write a ReviewI purchased a 2006 Tacoma Sport access cab drove it for 2 days
and returned it to the dealer. You've got to be kidding me Toyota
I was a Ford Truck man but decided to try a Toyota Tacoma after hearing all the good reviews. Don't get me wrong it's a nice truck.
But after doing some research I reaiized there was a problem with
a vibration in the drive train that Toyota had not figured out yet.
They say it's the tires? but after doing some internet research
from owners of the Sport Tacoma who had there tires replaced
a few times (with different brands)only to find out the vibration
was still there.
Come on Toyota you must know what causes this Vibration.
If anyone has a Tacoma Sport model and feels the vibration
in the steering wheel at 35-50 apond accelerating write a review
and let Toyota know. Thank You...read morehide

This is simply a great truck, I really enjoy driving my Tacoma. Before I bought my Tacoma, I owned a 2002 Dodge Ram and although it looked good I had nothing but problems. Fuel economy was poor on the bigger Ram so when I got tired of throwing money at fixing a four year old truck, I went looking for a new one. I finally decided on the Tacoma and I'm sure I made the right choice. This truck has everything you could want in a truck and then some. It looks great, drives great and I don't forsee any problems considering Toyota's track record. I wish I had bought the Tacoma the first time instead of the Ram because I also own a 1998 Camary and I have not had any problems, 165,000 miles and it still runs like new. Anyway if anyone is actually reading this, go for the Tacoma, great truck and a great Value....read morehide

Iv'e had this truck about 1 1/2 years and had all kinds of trouble with the stock tires. It handles better than any truck I've ever owned although italso is the first one with a rear stabilizer bar so it's hard to compare to others fairly. It does get lots of comments on how rough it rides but I expected that. Acceleration for a small truck is adequate but no race car. 235 H.P. is nothing great for a 4.0 L. I expected more. The multiple gears make it feel faster than it really is. Brakes fade quickly in mountains or with a load. All in all a nice sports truck but don't buy it thinking you can take on V-8 cars in a drag race....read morehide

good fuel economy. good paint. Standard cab versions are dumbed down. Buy extend cab versions if you want quality. Shocks need to be up-graded asap. Door panels are flimsy. Speakers must be replaced as oem parts are faulty.

This is a wonderful vechicle. I have always had a thing for Toyota's, and this is one of my favorites.

I love my truck but the quality isn't what I thought it would be. My tailgate bent loading a small motorcyle in the back and they refuse to replace it even though I did it the same way it is done in the brochure. That was a big selling point for me when I bought it. Now I have to buy a trailer cause my truck isn't tough enough. Should have bought a Chevy....read morehide

I'm impressed with this truck, I drove 2500 miles with a 500 lbs load and had no problems with power. That includes going over West Virginia and Tennesses mountains. For an I4, i had no problem going 70 straight up a mountain (usually, in 4th going up a hill on the freeway). I've had the tacoma for over 10,000 miles now and the only problem I have is shifting into first or reverese, and it is a little bit of a stretch to push it into right field (5th gear). The base model is a little cramped in the cab, but overall performance wise, and for the money, I am very satisfied with what I got and would recommend it over domestic models....read morehide

I really love my Tacoma!!! It has 5 star crash test ratings for every catagory. If you crash in this car you are garunteed not to get seriously injured. Its impossible to flip this truck over (believe me ive done some crazy stuff that has rolled over 3 different jeep wranglers)
The inside is really nice especially if you get the TRD package. Comes with really cool bucket seats with the TRD package. YOU HAVE TO GET THE TRD PACKAGE!!!!!!!
This is a great truck for just cruisin around and its also great for off-roading. You will be satisfied if you buy this truck. It is truly the best mid-size pickup that is currently available....read morehide

Over all the truck is very nice. I have 13,000 mi. on it and all is well. Side winds make it feel alittle unsettling but other than that the ride is good. If I use fourth gear going up hill on the freeway I have no problem with power even with a small load.I got a great deal on it buying it on a dealer advertisement. Some times I have trouble shifting into first or reverse and a long throw to fifth. Gas milage is great compared to my last trucks 9 MPG...read morehide

I drive 380 to 400 miles a day, the truck is great and it give me the performances what I need. i am so happy and thank to my frined Don who is a mechenic, who told me to buy the truck. This is my fourth Toyota truck and all are very reliable for my work. My work is a delivery work and most of the time we carry only light weight, less than 100 lbs. Some time I go out of town and I sleep in my truck, enough room for me. The reagion I drive around area is 2000 to 4000 foot above the sea leavel. My everage speed is between 65 and 70 miles per hour. and it make 25.1 miles per gallion, I use the A/C and heater as I need. As long as I drive with using the right gear shifting, the truck give me the performance what I need. This truck is not racing car,... if I race with other car, like toyota camery, or other v6 truck, I lost them. So I keep in mind that I am not a racer, i buy the truck for my work, I am totely Satisfaction for what I get all perfromance from my truck. It is a great truck for me and my work, sometime I feel that this truck is like my custom order to toyota engineer to build just for me. Thank you to the engineers and all people in Toyota for making a good truck with low cost in this enegry crices days....read morehide
