With the Sport package added this car is a joy to drive. You find yourself taking the long way home.

I bought mine new in 06 and only have about 1500 miles on the car. Overall I'm very pleased. The car rides smooth and everything about the car screams quality. The leather on the seats is very high quality and they are extra comfortable. The car has great acceleration and a quiet ride. I love my Volvo. A lot has been written about the small turning radious. It hasn't been a problem for me - I git use to it very fast and I rarely even notice unless I'm making a U-turn. The other issue is the leg room in the back seat. If you drive around adults most of the time you may want to consider a car with more leg room. I have 1 10 year old and it isn't a problem. My Mother in law didn't complain either. Overall a great car....read morehide

I finally dumped my S60, and purchased a 06 VW Passat.. Wow, what a car, drives like a dream, quite, and much more reliable than Volvo. I have had the Passat for a few weeks, and compared with the S60, I have driven it with 0 problems compared with the Volvo which was at the dealer over 15 times in 60 days... Never again will I even drive a Volvo, as stated, the dealers only "welcome" you when you are buying, but a different treatment when you have issues.......read morehide

Replaced a 2002 S60 2.4T with a 2006 S60 2.5T. Tried to get a T5 but they are scarce at the end of the year. Interior A pillar and visors now wrapped in cheap looking fabric. Awkwardly large key fob--why not push button start like competitors? Garish looking "child/air bag warning stickers slapped on visors where driver and passenger can enjoy them. Home link now part of an expensive "convenience" package that includes a backup alert system that drives the price through the roof. How this adds to my "convenience" baffles me. My passenger side window made a horrendous grinding noise the first time I lowered it. Steering wheel has a noticeable vibration when accelerating, to the point that my hands go numb eventually. Will need to have the dealer look at those items. Transmission much noiser than in my prior S60. Transmission was made in Japan, a change from my prior model--wonder if that's the difference? Side view mirrors appear smaller than before, which is not a good thing. Overall impression is that the interior appointments and build quality is cheaper than my last S60. I did not have the opportunity to test drive this specific vehicle, my husband just ordered it from the dealer with the information that not much had changed since 2002. We did examine an S60 at an auto show earlier this year, and I think a few things may have changed in the build since then. I didn't notice the chinzy looking interior at that time. I had no problems with my prior car mechanically, maintenance was not terribly expensive in our area, dealers were fair and treat us well. Will probably keep car through warranty period and then look at another vehicle, probably the Lexus IS350 which I adored!...read morehide

my husband bought me this car seven months ago and everything has gone wrong!the lights always need to be replaced, the sunroof never works, the windows make a loud noise, the battery has been replaced, the alternator, and the breatherboxand not to mention the car just turned 50,000 miles!the only thing that works on this car is the little window in the corner that gives you messages when something is wrong!what a joke!!!I will never buy a volvo again! We truley bought a lemon!...read morehide

Bought 2006 S60 in early June 2006. Looked at Avalon, Mercedes C240, Acura TL and Maxima GL. Avalon drove nice but seemed like a car for senior citizen, not very sporty and overpriced. Mercedes drove like a cheap plastic car thats way overpriced. And the Nissan dealer (Crown in Birmingham) was a joke treated us like we were buying a $15,000 Sentra instead of $33,000 car that the Maxima costs. The sales manager chased us down in parking lot trying to cut deal after we got mad and walked out of dealer. They offered us a $1500 discount on a 7500 mile Maxima GL demo, what a joke but they are like every other Nissan Dealer I have ever been in, probably why I never have bought a Nissan.
When I walked into Volvo dealer was treated with respect and like my expectation of a true luxury car dealer should be. Had not considered the Volvo until we walked in and test drove the S60. My wife and I fell in love with the car and drove out that day in a fully loaded S60 demo for more than $7000 off the MSRP, in fact it ended up costing about the same as a 2007 Camry V6 XLE.
This is truely a great luxry sport sedan and I reccommend it to anyone. Most of our friends and family now want one too....read morehide

Our fourth Volvo, two wagons and two sedans. The 2004 S60 and 2006 S60 are mostly identical, both quick and reliable. If there was about six inches more rear legroom, this would be an excellent sedan.
Service has been fine, and we've never had a significant problem.
Volvo , like many car companies takes an outrageous markup on its' add on options and accessories (cd player, wood steering wheel, wheels etc.) so make sure what you want on the car came installed from the factory....read morehide

Of course it doesn't handle like a BMW, but it has so much more that make it a better car. For one, the safety features pioneered by Volvo - which make me a lifetime buyer. 2- better interior quality. I've been in BMWs and other luxury brands and the interiors felt cheap.. like plastic. 3- Decent fuel efficiency and emissions controls. 4-Long lasting body and engines. Don't we all see 25 yr old, even 30 yr old volvos still out there on the roads? I do, everyday....read morehide
