This is our third Rendezvous... needless to say we like them all.
My 02 is over 6 years old... changed tires and brakes once so far in 75K+ miles, very reliable. Amazing that it gets better gas miliage than a 4 cyl CRV. We get up to 28mpg on higway, I get 22mpg going to work.
The 200hp v6 is so smooth and quiet that at a stop light it's like it shuts off. The tranny shifts so smooth most of the shifts are not felt at all. Our new R. has dual climate control, back up sonar, leather seats, onstar, on board computer, real wood/leather steering wheel and seats 7 for less than the neighbor paid for a 4 cyl that gets less gas miliage and has much less room. And it has a galvanized steel body and stainless steel exhaust which isn't even thinking about rusting after 6.5 years
My daughters 05 R. has 60K on it and it has its original brakes and tires and has never been back to the dealer. Really can't say have the service has been since for all 3 vehicle combined we only had to bring mine in once for a minor leak from a loose fitting.
I'm planning on trading my R in for a Chevy Volt or hopefully Buick will have a SUV version of a electric flex fuel vehicle....read morehide

I miss the convenience of a mini van, sliding doors, auto open back hatch and being able to more the seats up, down, and back and forth more.

Here is the problem we ran into.. please check with your mechanic
(Because I am certainly not one).. From what I understand (Based from our car repair) The thermostat (a very inexpensive piece) is down towards the engine block.. Basically it is a major job to get to the thermostat. (About $600) in labor. We were not lucky enough to catch this before it overheated the car (and warped the block) .. None of this was covered under warranty. So in goes the 2nd thermostat.. It went bad (they did cover it) ..
It now takes about 20 minutes to heat up.. The pass window has fallen, It has been nothing but trouble.. Now the air cond unit is bad (I guess the belt wears through the house of the unit, it is now useless.. And the worst part is GM knows of the defect in all models and will not recall them for repairs!! )
It you are thinking about a purchase, check out consumer reports.. This car is top on their list, and I should have done my homework prior to my purchase.
Anyways, in the 2 years we have had the car, we have paid off $4000 on the car and put another $3000 in repairs.

When you drive highway you will get the max 350-400 per full tank and only using regular no need to use mid or super you will still get the same mileage. I just love this SUV, also no other mid size or some large SUV can match the cargo space.

I just purchased this vehicle the same week my mother bought her much more expensive Enclave, and I prefer mine so much more!
It's got a very comfortable ride, the engine is quiet, it's roomy, has all the features I want, it looks good, and it gets good gas mileage. I usually get between 22 and 24 MPG.
The only thing I could complain about is the wacky gas guage that really doesn't know how much gas you have (The dealer insisted this was due to the long tank and the gas splashing around). It's not a big problem though, because all you have to do is pay attention to the number of miles....read morehide

We use to car for business and pleasure and other than the gas mileage we absolutely love it. We live in a very rural area and the uneven road conditions are not a problem for the great ride.

I have a 02cxl, a few years ago, bought it used. Only 1 previous owner. From day one there has been a sqeaking in the belts somewhere, even though there brand new. I take a chance with my life everyday because the brakes lock up, and sometimes jark the car. Gm dealer says oh your car thinks your losing control, all you need is a new hub. Get a new hub 2 weeks later the same thing is happening. The car is very nice made, and has excellent features. It's just too many mechanical problems. My awd turned it self off, and no one can figure out why. Given the option I wouldn't buy this car again...read morehide
