Update on my choice from Copydude 2/2 ACR and the Texas Hill Country. I purchased the Chevy after all, It has been an excellent vehicle and choice for my family, the 10,000 tow rating hauls my trailer and fmaily with no problems. I got the fully loaded version and can't be happier for my choice. The only thing I found that I didn't like was the factory wheels, with every other Surbaban havign 20's and this stuck with 16's it looks like it is riding on four donuts. I put after market 20's and it looks fantastic.
1 year and 10,000 miles of ownership and have no problems.

my set up is the 6 liter with the 410 geared rear end (3.73 is standard on the 2500 and 3.42 on 15's) I stayed with the bench in the back, adds room for one more person and keeps the kids from fighting over who sits where, heated seats on the bench are a nice plus and so is the mp3 inputs.
again opt for the nav system with the DVD and back up camera, it keeps you and this long beast out of trouble, and is a MUST fro backing up to your trailers, no more back and forth and jumping out of your truck to see if your lined up!...read morehide

Have a month now in my new Suburban LS. I love it, my wife loves it, kids love it. It drives very nicely, not like a truck. The materials are of good quality, and I can also notice a good overall built quality.
The fuel averages 17.1 mi/gal, which is above expectations. Maintenance is also inexpensive from what I learned (we used to own German cars, which are a lot more expensive to maintain).
I found in Jan 08 a new 2007, which had great incentives. Financing is also great through GMAC. The dealer exceeded all my expectations in explaining about everything I needed to know.

Electrical issues. Battery goes dead often, even after a couple hrs

I took this vehicle into a dealer for warranty work on the charging system. I had to wait 4 hrs due to them "having to drain the system down after unhooking the battery" After all this, I was told there is nothing wrong with the charging system or battery. The battery goes dead at random times, with no consistency. This morning, I drove the vehicle, came home and it sat for 1 1/2 hrs and the battery was dead..
Another time, I started up the vehicle, let it run and when I came out I found the doors had locked (this is impossible to do with just hitting the button, as the drivers door will automatically unlock with the key in the ignition)...read morehide

Beautiful, smooth ride, love all of the features, very pleased!

Cons

Driver's seat could stand to be a little more plush for those long trips!

Very happy with the interior and exterior colors. I am a female and have absolutely to problem with parking or backing. I was surprised at how well it handled overall.

The Suburban has had electrical problems since the week I brought it home. The navigation system runs when no one is in the car, the radio shuts off and the key remotes have been replaced three times. The vehicle has serious electrical problems which have not been repaired by multiple attempts at the dealer. Now the interior lights will not go off. This is the best Burb we've had (this makes 6). Quiet, comerfortable, good gas milage loads of power. What more can I say I love it and my wife loves it more.

LIVES in the shop

I purchased my 07 LT in April (I traded in my 2004 Suburban for the new body style) - I WANT MY OLD ONE BACK!!! While I love the looks and the space (I have a daycare), we can't seem to get it out of the shop. GM is probably going to replace it as a lemon law car. First, on the way home from buying it, the cruise control stopped working, then the back doors wouldn't lock, then the window trim pieces fell off, then the back seat panels came out, then the back door started rattling, then engine started clunking when it started. well, I thought that my gass millage will be a little bit closer to the sticker one (15- 20 mpg). it's around 11- 12mpg. I don't have a heavy foot, but most of the time I drive in suburbs and town traffic, so that's probably the reason why. I was a little bit disapointed about that, but i still love the truck. for such a big truck it's very easy to handle. kids love it !...read morehide

INTERIOR NOISE! ENGINE IS LOUD, RATTLE'S EVERYWHERE, INSANE WIND NOISE!!!

When I saw this car, I didnt even think about my wallet or reviews. It was so hot inside and out that I laid down the 53K and left the dealer. My first week I noticed some loud engine noises etc, so I just left it. Now, the problems were/are NUMEROUS, lets begin.

LOUD ENGINE NOISE: Brought to dealer, No results

INTERIOR RATTLE FROM DASH, SEATS ETC: After throwing a major tantrum in the dealer, they worked for hours and got rid of my rattles, thank god.

LOUD EXHAUST: Didnt even bother.

Overall so-so American Quality, Should've done my homework before-hand...read morehide

I had been driving a 2004 ford Expedition XLT 4X4. I recently purchased the Suburban, and I love it. It handles like a car and has a nice smooth ride. The Ford has a rough ride and does not handle as well. Chevrolet makes a much better SUV!
